Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatuLlahi wa barakatuhu

Mubarak the Maulid month. We are lucky that we are from his nation, ummati Muhammad ﷺ.

One of the Sahaba asked the Prophet ﷺ about what Allah ﷻ created first. The answer from the Prophet ﷺ was:

أول ما خلق ربك يا جابر، نور نبيك

“Awwalu ma khalaqa Rabbuka ya Jabir nuru nabiyyik”

“The first thing that Allah created, O Jabir, was the light of your Prophet ﷺ.”

There is also the Hadith Sharif where the Prophet ﷺ said:

“I was a Prophet 500 years before Adam (AS) was created,” even before Adam (AS) was clay, before he was even shaped from water and soil.

Allah ﷻ created Adam (AS) and taught him all knowledge so that he could understand from the first moment. When his soul came, the first thing he saw written under the Arsh (Throne) of Allah ﷻ was:

“La ilaha illa’Llah Muhammadun Rasulullah.”

Later, when Adam (AS) was sent down to Earth, he cried for forgiveness for 300 years. He said to Allah ﷻ:

“For the sake of Muhammad ﷺ, forgive me.” And he was forgiven.

Allah ﷻ asked, “How do you know about Muhammad ﷺ?”

Adam (AS) replied, “I saw Your Name written with his name on Your Throne. Only Your most beloved and most valuable one could have his name next to Yours.”

When Allah ﷻ created Adam (AS), He placed the Nur of the Prophet ﷺ on his back. The angels wanted to see this Nur, so they went behind Adam (AS). He asked why they were doing so, and it was said, “The light of Prophet ﷺ is on your back.”

Adam (AS) then asked for it to be moved to his front, so he could see it. Allah ﷻ placed it on his forehead. The angels kept looking at it, but Adam (AS) still could not see. Then he asked for it to be placed where he could view it, and it was put on his index finger.

That is why the index finger is raised during Shahada, and from that time Adam (AS) raised that finger saying, “La ilaha illa’Llah Muhammadun Rasulullah” and looking at the Nur of the Prophet ﷺ.

These are small stories that show how much Allah ﷻ has honoured the Prophet ﷺ and blessed us to be from his ﷺ ummah.

The Prophet ﷺ was given the strength of 40 Prophets. When a Prophet passed away, people could not carry his body, so they buried the Prophet ﷺ in the room of Hazrat Aisha, where he passed away.

Hazrat Owais al Qaraniق was deeply in love with the Prophet ﷺ without ever having seen him. The Prophet ﷺ sent his blessed jubba (coat) with Hazrat Aliر, Hazrat Abu Bakrر, and Hazrat Omarر to give to Owais al Qaraniق.

When they arrived, he asked them, “How do you see the Prophet ﷺ? How do you know him ﷺ?”

They gave different answers, but he said, “No, no, I am asking in another way. How do you truly see the Prophet ﷺ?”

Hazrat Aliر then said that he had seen the Prophet ﷺ in two ways:

First, during the Battle of Khaybar. His eyes were in pain, and he could not open them. A powerful warrior from the enemy was calling for Hazrat Aliر, mocking him. The Prophet ﷺ placed his blessed saliva on Ali’s eyes, and immediately he could see.

When he opened his eyes, he saw that the Prophet ﷺ’s body was so vast that it filled the place. He could see up to his chest, but above that was light. He looked down and saw nothing but the Prophet ﷺ.

The Prophet ﷺ said, “Ya Ali, what are you staring at?”

Then Hazrat Aliر fought and defeated the enemy.

Second, during the victory of Makkah. The Prophet ﷺ was breaking idols in the Ka’aba with a stick. He did not use his blessed hands because fire cannot burn what his ﷺ hands touch.
One idol was placed very high, and his ﷺ stick could not reach it.

The Prophet ﷺ asked Hazrat Aliر to stand on his ﷺ shoulders. Aliر was shy, but the Prophet ﷺ said, “You cannot carry me, but I can carry you.”

When Hazrat Aliر stood on his shoulders, he saw himself raised into the heavens. He saw angels, and he saw the Prophet ﷺ covering everything. The Prophet ﷺ then said,
“Ya Ali, why are you not breaking the idols?” And then he did.

After hearing this, Hazrat Owais al Qarani ق said, “I see him ﷺ like that all the time.”

This is why our Naqshbandi order is Owaisi. Hazrat Owaisق came from Yemen to Madinah to visit the Prophet ﷺ, but could not find him and returned. Still, he had endless love for the Prophet ﷺ.

When the Prophet ﷺ lost his tooth in the Battle of Uhud, Hazrat Owais al Qaraniق pulled out all his own teeth out of love, not knowing which one the Prophet ﷺ had lost.

This is the story.

Alhamdulillah, insha’Allah next Sunday or Monday will be Maulid. Different countries have different calendars, but every day is like Eid for us.

So insha’Allah, you should celebrate on the night and day.

Read maulid, make a feast for your children, invite your family, make dinner, give gifts, and give charity to the poor in the name of Prophet ﷺ.

Try your best to show your love for the Prophet ﷺ and be thankful to Allah ﷻ that we are from his ﷺ nation, from his ummah.

Mubarak the month of Maulid.

Al-Fatiha.
