Bismi Llahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim

وَمَا تَدْرِى نَفْسٌ مَّاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَا تَدْرِى نَفْسٌۢ بِأَىِّ أَرْضٍۢ تَمُوتُ
(Qur’ān 31:34)
Allah ﷻ states in the Holy Qur’an: “And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die.” Allah ﷻ says that nobody knows what they’re going to earn the next day, nor do they know where they’re going to die. Days are passing by and it’s not clear what’s going to happen. Nobody knows except for Allah ﷻ.
Thank Allah ﷻ, as long as we are with Him, we should be grateful for these days and for every state. “Al-ḥamdu li-Llāhi ʿalā kulli ḥāl.” We should be grateful and thankful for everything, for every state we are in. Thanks be to Allah ﷻ.
Also thank Allah ﷻ we have passed the month of Rajab in safety and now it’s the blessed month of our Holy Prophet ﷺ, Sha‘bān al-Sharīf, the Honorable Sha‘bān. Inshā’Allah this will pass in safety too so we reach Ramaḍān and spend it in obedience to Allah ﷻ, as a servant to Him and be aware of it inshā’Allah, otherwise it will be of no use.
You’re in a life which you can’t control or stop. Even if most people do not realize it, it comes and passes really quickly. No second or minute of it should be wasted, but of course humans spend most of their lifetime in vain and in empty things. It would be good if it just passed in vain and emptiness, but the majority of the world actually spends it in disobedience and sinning.
Most of the people in this world are doing so. Those who are with Allah ﷻ are few, and they are Allah’s ﷻ lucky servants. Those who are with Allah ﷻ are the lucky ones, not the ones who are with this world. Those who are with this world, just as this world wasn’t left to anybody, it doesn’t care about anybody, it’s not loyal to anyone, and since it has a set time and period, when the time is up it is going to end.
Allah ﷻ is the One who creates. He will create another world. Allah ﷻ is al-Khallāq, the Supreme Creator. There were so many other humans and worlds before us and it will continue to happen in the same manner. What’s important is to be with Allah ﷻ.
Those who are with Allah ﷻ will be saved for eternity. Those who are not, those who are with this world, will be ruined and will go away along with this world and so they will be at loss for eternity.
Therefore, these are valuable days and holy months. All months should be taken care of, but there are more ikrāms (gifts) from Allah ﷻ in these holy months. We should be doing more ṣalawāt, good works, and all sorts of things that are good deeds and that earn rewards. It will be more virtuous during this month. It is the month of our Holy Prophet ﷺ.
We should at least recite 100 times ṣalawāt and more. However much you can do, 1000 times, 1500 times, 2000 times. However much you can do, that much more it will be virtuous for you. Your rewards will increase, your barakah (blessings) will increase, and your nūr (light) will increase. We would be enlightened with the nūr of our Holy Prophet ﷺ. May our hearts be enlightened with his light inshā’Allah.
May Allah ﷻ make it mubārak (blessed) and may it be even better next year inshā’Allah.
Wa min Allāh at-Tawfīq.
Al-Fatiha.
