Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

وَلَيَنصُرَنَّ اللَّهُ مَن يَنصُرُهُ
(Qur’ān 22:40)
‘Wa layanṣurannā Llāhu man yanṣuruh’
‘And Allah will surely help those who help Him.’ Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
He who is with Allāh ﷻ and obeys the command of Allāh ﷻ is always victorious; victory belongs to Him. No harm will come to him. Indeed, the promise of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is true. That promise will certainly come true. There is no doubt.
Therefore, be with Allāh ﷻ. You must always stand firm on the way of Allāh ﷻ so that Allāh ﷻ may grant you victory and help you, in shā’a Llāh.
People are impatient and want everything immediately. Whatever Allāh ﷻ decrees will happen. Victory is in preserving our īmān. That is the most important thing. It is in not being defeated by shayṭān, not being defeated by our ego. If you are defeated by them, you have lost. If you defeat them, you have won. You have achieved victory.
Worldly victory is not important. What’s important is, as our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said, there is the small jihad and the greater jihad. The small jihad is war. That is what our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says. The greater jihad is what comes after it. Because there is a war that continues throughout life.
A person is always in a war with his ego and shayṭān. It is the greater jihad. You cannot say, “I have won it,” and then leave it. How is that? If you stray from the way of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla and say, “Okay, I have won, I have won the war. I have defeated my ego. I have defeated shayṭān,” then in that moment, that means you have lost. It means you have lost everything.
That is why, it is called the greater jihad, because it lasts a lifetime. Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam called it “Jihād ul-Akbar”, “The Greatest Jihad.” That is the great jihad, the great war. We are in this war until our last breath.
May Allāh ﷻ be with us. We are on His ﷻ path, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ always help us. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
