The End of the Ummah

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is the one who created everything. He ﷻ created time and space. But He ﷻ is free from time and space. They are for the creatures. Time and space are for creatures. What is for Allāh ﷻ, He ﷻ Himself knows. Only He ﷻ Himself knows. We cannot know His ﷻ condition. We know as much as He ﷻ let us know.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla created the universe. Everything in it has its life and time. When the time comes – just like people have a lifetime, everything has its lifetime. When their lives are over in this world, they will be gone. But the power of Allāh ﷻ will go on. Allāh ﷻ is Al-Qādir. Allāh ﷻ is The Creator. Creator means He ﷻ always creates. Not only us, but also those before us and those after us; all over the universe there are creatures known to Allāh ﷻ. He ﷻ knows how and what they are. And He ﷻ shows you as much as He ﷻ wants. What He ﷻ doesn’t show you, you cannot know. How much Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gives permission for people to know, that’s what they know. How much He ﷻ has said they must know, that much they will know.

The time we live in since ‘Ādam ‘alayhi s-salām until now; Allāh ﷻ knows how many thousands of years have passed. There are various sayings, but it is around 7,000-8,000 years. Before our Holy Prophet ﷺ, there were perhaps 6,000 years. And now the time of the descendants of ‘Ādam ‘alayhi s-salām is coming to an end. Qiyāmah is approaching them. Allāh ﷻ will do whatever He ﷻ wants after us.

Certainly, His ﷻ attribute is Khallāq. He ﷻ is Al-Khāliq. The attribute of creating goes on. He ﷻ is always creating. It is not that He ﷻ created us and there is nothing else. With every rain drop, an angel descends. An angel is created. With every snow flake, an angel descends and it remains on earth. They are creatures too. They are Allāh’s ﷻ creatures. There are millions and billions of zeros and uncountable number of creatures of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.

But our time, the time of this ummah is coming to its end. Because our Holy Prophet ﷺ says, “The distance between me and qiyāmah is as close as my two fingers. As close as ‘aṣr and maghrib prayers are, as close as the sun is ready to set after aṣr, qiyāmah is that near”.

Therefore, this world has taken everything. It has taken its decoration and ornament. And from now on, its end is coming. Qiyāmah is approaching. Despite qiyāmah approaching or not approaching, “وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مُّعْرِضُونَ”, “Wa Hum Fī Ghaflatin Mu’riđūn”, “While they are in heedlessness turning away.” (Qur’an 21:01), says Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. No one thinks about anything except their entertainment. Aware or unaware of it, they are busy with dunyā. They have forgotten about ākhirah. But there is ākhirah. Don’t forget about ākhirah.

Also, the time of this ummah and the generation of ‘Ādam ‘alayhi s-salām is coming to end. Just like everything’s time comes to an end, their time is coming to end. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla knows what to do after them. And this is what we believe in. Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, this belief is the belief of Ahlu s-Sunnah wa-l-Jamā‘ah. When the time is near, the signs will appear. Mahdī ‘alayhi s-salām will appear. The Dajjāl will appear. Dābbatu l-Arḍ will appear. Each of them will appear one by one. And then qiyāmah will occur.

May Allāh ﷻ not separate us all from īmān. May Allāh ﷻ protect us from the fitnah of the end of times. Its fitnah is very heavy. Many people slip and perish. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May Allāh ﷻ protect all of us inshā’aLlāh.
