By the name of Allah, All-Mighty, All-Merciful, Most Beneficent and Most Munificent.

At the time when the persecution of the believers intensified, the Prophet ﷺ travelled by night with his closest companion, Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiqر.

On their journey to Madinah, they sought refuge and hid in the Cave of Thawr.

It was in that cave that the Holy Qur’an records this moment, when “He ﷺ said to his companion, ‘Do not grieve; indeed Allah ﷻ is with us.’” (Qur’an 9:40).

The Prophet ﷺ also said,
“What do you think of two, when Allah ﷻ is the third?” (Sahih al-Bukhari)

Sayyidina Abu Bakrر said,
“O Prophet of Allah ﷺ, I am not sad for myself, but I am in pain. A snake is biting my foot, and I fear that it might bite you. I am crying because my heart is burning for you and for your safety.”

The Prophet ﷺ was deeply pleased with his beloved companion. He ﷺ embraced Abu Bakrر, placed his ﷺ hand upon his heart, and poured into it the knowledge that Allah ﷻ had granted him ﷺ.

From this comes the well-known saying:
“Whatever Allah ﷻ poured into my heart, I poured into the heart of Abu Bakrر.”

Then a momentous spiritual event occurred in that cave. The Prophet ﷺ assured Abu Bakrر that the Light from the root of the spiritual tree, destined to spread across all of humanity, a Light flowing directly from the Divine Presence, would appear.

Allah ﷻ had ordered him ﷺ to transmit it to Abu Bakrر and to all of his spiritual lineage, the Naqshbandi mureeds.

Sayyidina Abu Bakrر was ordered to call all the Masters of the Golden Chain, the inheritors and Grandshaykhs from that time until the time of Sayyidina Imam al-Mahdi (AS). They were summoned from the world of souls, their spirits brought to the Cave of Thawr.

Then, he was ordered to call the 7,007 Naqshbandi Saints.

After that, the Prophet ﷺ called the 124,000 Prophets.

Sayyidina Abu Bakrر then ordered the Grandshaykhs to call their followers to appear spiritually.

All the Shaykhs took the hands of their followers to grant initiation (bay‘ah). Sayyidina Abu Bakrر placed his hand above them all. The Prophet ﷺ placed his ﷺ hand above his, and above them all was Allah ﷻ, the Hand of Divine Power.

Allah ﷻ Himself placed His recitation upon the tongues of those present, and from the Voice of Power they followed:

“Allah Hu Allah Hu Allah Hu Haqq”

“Allah Hu Allah Hu Allah Hu Haqq”

“Allah Hu Allah Hu Allah Hu Haqq”

This Dhikr is known as Khatm al-Khwajagan, the recitation of the Masters. Whoever accepts initiation or attends this Dhikr must know that he or she was spiritually present in that cave at that blessed moment with the Prophet ﷺ and received those secrets.

These secrets were transmitted through the Shaykhs of the Golden Chain, beginning with Sayyidina Abu Bakrر.

Sayyidina Abu Bakrر was overwhelmed with joy and awe at what Allah ﷻ had unveiled in the cave. This marked the foundation of the spiritual Naqshbandi Way.

Thereafter, the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakrر resumed their journey and reached Madinah safely.

Tonight, on the Urs of Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiqر, do send gifts of Surah Al-Fatiha and Yasin for his noble soul, and renew our gratitude for the immense light Allah ﷻ entrusted to him, a light that continues to reach the Ummah and those who walk the Naqshbandi Way.

In his sohbahs, Almarhum Sheikh Abdul Sattar would often remind us that the souls of all those chosen to receive guidance through the Golden Chain of Naqshbandi Masters were gathered that night to perform the very first Khatm al-Khwajagan.

This is an immense honour and a priceless gift that Allah ﷻ has bestowed upon us.

The gift of Tariqah, the sacred trust passed from the Prophet ﷺ to Sayyidina Abu Bakrر, is worth more than the world and all that it contains.

On this blessed night, may we thank Allah ﷻ for His gifts, for His countless blessings, and especially for this beautiful gift of guidance.

May He ﷻ increase and protect our faith in these times of confusion and trial, and keep our hearts firm upon the truth.

May we never stray, nor fail to cherish this priceless gift that our souls were given long before we came into this earthly realm.

As our souls were gathered once before in the cave, may Allah ﷻ gather us again under His Divine Pleasure with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiqر, our beloved Shuyukh, the Masters of this Way, and their noble companions, in the eternal gardens of Dhikr.

Al-Fatiha.

This series was initiated by the SufiHub Team in honour of our beloved Sheikh, the late Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Sattar Khan, who lovingly dedicated himself to transcribing and summarising the daily sohbahs of Mawlana Sheikh Nazimق.

It was through this blessed service that he began his journey on this beautiful Way in 2008, remaining steadfast upon it until his final breath in 2023. Today, his legacy continues at our Zawiyah at A’Posh Bizhub Singapore through his representatives Sidi Shalihin, Ismail, and Syed Muhammad, who humbly carry forward the path he sincerely paved.

We pray that our dear Sheikh Abdul Sattar has been reunited with his beloved Mawlana Sheikh Nazimق and all our Grandshaykhs, and that their light continues to guide us always on the way of Haqq.

The text was originally taken from 2000+ Sohbahs of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim Adil al-Haqqaniق by SufiMus Online. With love and sincere intention, parts of this sohbah have been gently revised by the SufiHub Team for clarity and contextual relevance.

If you wish to share it on your platforms, kindly post it in full and ensure that proper credit is given to all its sources. For this is adab, the very core of our beautiful religion and way.
