Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm
Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Adilق’s Suhbah

Our Tariqah, The Naqshbandi Tariqah is the way of our Holy Prophet ﷺ. By starting from the Sahabah Sayyidina Abu Bakr, the way of the Sahabah and Awliya is the way of guidance, the way of training the ego.
Some people think that they will become Awliya and will start showing Karāmāt/miracles when they join Tariqah. Then the purpose of becoming Awliya is for personal interest, not for the pleasure of Allah ﷻ. There will be no advancement then, they will stop. And when they stop, they will start looking for other places.
“I will show Karāmāt/miracles. I will benefit from it.” People who join Tariqah for Karāmāt/miracles will never reach it. And when they don’t reach it, they will get disappointed. Therefore, you mustn’t join Tariqah for Karāmāt/miracles or to become Awliya, but for the pleasure of Allah ﷻ.
You must join in order to train your ego. You will become a beloved servant of Allah ﷻ then. You will become an Awliya of Allah ﷻ then. Awliya doesn’t mean just showing Karāmāt/miracles. In the Naqshbandi Tariqah, it is not very acceptable to show Karāmāt/miracles. You do wrong from the beginning when you join Tariqah for something that is not very acceptable.
Therefore, our goal in Tariqah is to ask for the pleasure of Allah ﷻ with sincerity from the first step. You will say that you joined the way of our Holy Prophet ﷺ in order to reach him ﷺ then. Otherwise, it is not sincere.
When there is personal interest, it is useless for both Dunya and Akhirah. And may Allah ﷻ protect us, most of the time, people who join with this purpose leave the way and the Tariqah. They cheat others as well. Therefore, while trying to do something good, don’t do something bad.
Therefore, this advice is to all the brothers. Some people say it openly, and some people wish so in their hearts. That is why, we have to correct our hearts and we have to correct our outward [aspect] as well. Our goal must be the pleasure of Allah ﷻ in everything.
“Ilahi Anta maqsudi wa Ridaka matlubi”, “O my Lord, O my Allah! You are my goal and Your pleasure is my desire.” May we have Your ﷻ Pleasure. That is why we always say, “May Allah ﷻ be pleased with you”, but it has become an ordinary saying. For the Sahabah, they say “RadiyaLlahu anhum”. It means that Allah ﷻ is pleased with them. It is a great rank. People don’t realize it.
May we have the pleasure of Allah ﷻ as well insha’Allah. May Allah ﷻ be pleased with us as well insha’Allah. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
