Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Ṭarīqah, shukr to Allāh ﷻ is for the ākhirah. It is to make the ākhirah prosperous, to stay away from dunyā. It is to remove dunyā from the heart, not to put it in the heart. These pieces of advice are for the believers to only work for their ākhirah in dunyā. He whose ākhirah is prosperous, will pass through dunyā comfortably. Even if it doesn’t pass comfortably, it doesn’t matter. What matters is for the ākhirah to be prosperous.
There are many pieces of advice in the ṭarīqah. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, “الدِّين النَّصِيحَة”, “Ad-Dīnu n-Naṣīḥah”, “Religion is advice”. Religion is based on advice. What is advice? To show good things. Those who do them, do them. Those who don’t do them, know for themselves.
One of them is politics. They call it “Siyāsah”. We must stay away from politics. We have nothing to do with it. There are politicians to do politics. Their work and knowledge is another knowledge. It is not necessary for us, the people of ṭarīqah. Because the people of the ṭarīqah know that whatever Allāh ﷻ says will happen. Therefore, they don’t interfere much in dunyā. Because politics is an affair of dunyā.
Allāh ﷻ created special people for it; they work in it. It’s not for everyone. But people of today, everyone knows the best, everyone does the best thing. Even the shepherd on the mountain top strives to interfere in politics. But people like us who strive to interfere are working in vain. As we said, there are special people who work in it. Allāh ﷻ created us like that: everyone works according to his ability. You must know that.
The most dangerous thing for the murīd if he enters politics, most people forget ākhirah, they forget Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, they forget the orders of Allāh ﷻ. He becomes busy with politics. His mind and thought is in it, his heart is in it. That’s why, he must stay away from it.
Most mashāyikh even forbade their murīds from interfering in it. Because when it enters a person’s heart, they will then have, “حُبُّ الرياسة”, “Hubbu r-Ri’asah”, “Love of Leadership/Headship.” This is the disease of the ego that leaves the heart last. A person deals with this disease until his last breath.
According to people, they think it is not a disease but a great work to do. Whereas the work you do is clear, and what will happen is clear. People of ṭarīqah must know that. What Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla wants happens. Nothing else happens.
Therefore, you should not say, “I will do this and that.” Mind your own business. Mind your strength. Mind your worship. Mind your ākhirah. Mind your children in dunyā and make du’ā’ that He ﷻ improves them; that’s enough for you.
May Allāh ﷻ help you. May Allāh ﷻ give people mind understanding so that everyone does what they know. May they not interfere with what they don’t know, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
