Shayṭān Is the Enemy of Humanity

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Shayṭān, “عليه ما يستحق”, ‘alayhi ma yastahiq, never stops. He is constantly striving. He tirelessly and relentlessly pursues mankind to drag them into Hell. Most people are already subject to him, together with him. He shows no tolerance for those who are not with him; he wants to send them all to Hell. May Allāh ﷻ protect us.

Therefore, being with Allāh ﷻ saves us. Nothing else benefits humankind. Because it is Allah’s ‎ﷻ dominion, Allah’s ‎ﷻ will. To oppose Him ﷻ is foolishness. If Allāh ﷻ has given something, one must obey Him ﷻ. One must follow the good way He ﷻ has given. Do not be with His ﷻ enemy.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, “إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ فَاتَّخِذُوهُ عَدُوًّا”, “Inna Ash-Shayţāna Lakum Adūwun FaAttakhidhūhu Adūwāan”, “Indeed, shayṭān is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy.” (Qur’an 35:06). He ﷻ says that shayṭān is the greatest enemy.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla commands, do not take him as a friend. Consider him an enemy. An enemy can never become a friend; that is, regarding shayṭān. How can an enemy [from mankind] become a friend? Only if he comes to the way of Allāh ﷻ; he then becomes a friend.

You cannot befriend those who are not on the way of Allāh ﷻ, those who are against Allāh ﷻ; you cannot befriend shayṭān. He does not wish you well. He constantly desires evil. He constantly seeks all kinds of trouble and suffering for you. He strives day and night to eliminate even the slightest goodness he sees in people.

Therefore, be careful. Do not befriend shayṭān. Do not follow his way. Stay away from him. Stay away from his soldiers. He is only concerned with how much he can corrupt societies and how much evil he can inflict. He never thinks of anything else. He is an enemy of humanity, let alone Muslims. He wants people to do even more evil.

May Allāh ﷻ protect us from their evil. Be with those who are on the way of Allāh ﷻ. Be with those who are on the way of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Hold on to both, not just one, because if you don’t, shayṭān will snatch you.

They ask, “What is ṭarīqah?” and say, “There’s no need for ṭarīqah.” Those who say that have no benefit in their knowledge. No matter how many thousands of books they write, no matter how many students they teach, if they lack faith, they are all in the hands of shayṭān.

May Allāh ﷻ protect us from their evil. May He ﷻ not separate us from the right way, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.

There are recited Qur’ān Khatms, ayāt, surahs, salawat, tasbihat, good deeds done. We gift them to the soul of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, for the souls of his Ahlu l-Bayt and ṣaḥābah. For the souls of all prophets, Awliyā’, asfiya, mashāyikh. For the souls of our ancestors. For the souls of believing men and women, Muslim men and women. For goodness to come and evil to be gone. For the strength of our īmān. Li-Llahi Ta’ala.
