Hajja Amina Adil Sultanق’s Suhbah

By the name of Allah, All-Mighty, All-Merciful, Most Beneficent and Most Munificent.
One day Sayyidina ʿUthmanر invited the Prophet ﷺ and all the Sahabahر to his home for a meal. As they walked together, ʿUthmanر followed behind the Prophet ﷺ carefully counting each blessed footstep.
The Prophet ﷺ asked why he was doing that.
Sayyidina ʿUthmanر replied,
“Ya RasulAllah ﷺ, for every one of your footsteps I will give a gold coin in sadaqah, and I will free a male slave.”
In the house of ʿUthmanر, every kind of good food was prepared. They said the only thing missing was the milk of the bird (an Arabic expression for something impossible). Sayyidina ʿAliر ate with the rest and then returned home, his heart carrying a quiet heaviness.
When Sayyidatina Fatimaر asked him why, he said softly that he wished he had the means to host the Prophet ﷺ as Sayyidina ʿUthmanر had done.
She encouraged him gently:
“Invite him ﷺ, O ʿAli.”
“But what will we feed him ﷺ?” he asked.
“O ʿAli,” she replied, “He ﷺ is Habibullah. He ﷻ will feed us; we will not feed him.” She meant that provision would come from Allah ﷻ in honour of His Beloved ﷺ.
Because he felt he had nothing to offer, he asked Sayyidatina Fatimaر to give the invitation in his name. The Prophet ﷺ accepted immediately and said he would come the next day, bringing all the Sahabahر with him.
Sayyidatina Fatimaر placed a large pot of water over the fire, with nothing at all to put inside it. She left it and entered their small prayer room. After praying, she remained in sajdah and whispered:
“O my Lord ﷻ, Your Beloved ﷺ is coming. What shall I feed him?”
When the Prophet ﷺ arrived with the Companionsر, a fragrance unlike anything on earth rose from the empty pot, filling the house with the scent of Paradise. The Prophet ﷺ told them that it had been prepared and sent by Allah ﷻ Himself.
They ate in groups of ten. Each group ate to their fill, and others took their place. After all had eaten, the pot remained full, and bowls of food were sent to every neighbour.
Then Sayyidina Jibril (AS) came to the Prophet ﷺ and said:
“Tell Fatimaر that Allah ﷻ has accepted her invitation.”
It meant that her sincerity had reached the Divine Presence, and that Allah ﷻ Himself had honoured her invitation to host the Prophet ﷺ by sending a heavenly provision.
She was filled with joy and asked Allah ﷻ to grant sadaqah for her as well.
Sayyidina Jibril (AS) replied:
“For every one of the Prophet ﷺ’s footsteps,
Allah ﷻ will give one hundred thousand gold coins,
and He will free one hundred thousand men and women from Hellfire,
in honour of Sayyidatina Fatimaر.”
And through that hidden generosity, her simple home became a place where a heavenly feast descended into this world, teaching us that trust in Allah ﷻ never returns empty.
May Allah ﷻ grant us adab, sincerity, and a heart that trusts in Him as Sayyidatina Fatimaر trusted, and may He accept our invitations to goodness just as He accepted hers.
Tonight, on the blessed Mawlid of Sayyidatina Fatima az-Zahraر, do send gifts of Surah Al-Fatiha and Surah Yasin for her pure soul.
May He ﷻ fill our hearts with the certainty she carried, the purity she lived, and the radiance she embodied.
May Allah ﷻ grant us the honour of her gaze, the sweetness of her intercession, and her protection on the Day of Judgement, and gather us beneath the blessed banner of her father, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Ameen.
Al-Fatiha.

This series was initiated by the SufiHub Team in honour of our beloved Sheikh, the late Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Sattar Khan, who lovingly dedicated himself to transcribing and summarising the daily sohbahs of Mawlana Sheikh Nazimق.
It was through this blessed service that he began his journey on this beautiful Way in 2008, remaining steadfast upon it until his final breath in 2023. Today, his legacy continues at our Zawiyah at A’Posh Bizhub Singapore through his representatives Sidi Shalihin, Ismail, and Syed Muhammad, who humbly carry forward the path he sincerely paved.
We pray that our dear Sheikh Abdul Sattar has been reunited with his beloved Mawlana Sheikh Nazimق and all our Grandshaykhs, and that their light continues to guide us always on the way of Haqq.
