Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

‘وَالصُّلْحُ خَيْرٌ’
(Qur’ān 04:128)
‘Wa s-Sulhu Khayr’
‘And making peace is better.’ Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, making peace, that is, reaching an agreement, is good, it’s better. If people made peace, there wouldn’t be cases in court like today which drag on for years, decades, or even a hundred years.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, making peace is good. You’ll think, “I’ve lost.” No, you won’t lose. You’ll gain both your time and your health. Because fighting, pursuing something, and being stubborn makes a person tired. It is tiring spiritually, psychologically, and physically.
Therefore, Allāh ﷻ is Ahkamu l-Hākimīn, Alamu l-Ālimīn. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla shows us the beautiful way. Those who follow the way of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla in everything will find comfort.
But if someone pursues their own ego and says, “I am right, I must win,” the other will also say, “I am right”; Yet, even if both of them tell what the problem is, there will be goodness for both.
When these matters are pursued with stubbornness, there is no benefit. Even if you win, it will be a waste of time and your nerves will be frayed. Winning is of no use.
Therefore, no matter how many problems you have, even if you think you’ve lost, say okay for by reaching an agreement, you will see its benefit. “No, I will win.” Even if you win, it will still be of no benefit.
May Allāh ﷻ grant people to follow the way Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has told and shown, so that they will find comfort. They will find comfort in this world and gain in the Hereafter.
Otherwise, here in this world, people would fight and occupy the courts, and then the only ones who’d win would be the lawyers; no one else will win.
We know some people who have lost so many of their homes and belongings in court, and the lawyer won. “We will win with the lawyer. You open this case and we will win.” It’s been fifteen years, and fifteen houses have been lost. Who won? It went into the lawyers’ pockets.
Therefore, obey the order of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Follow the way He ﷻ has advised you to, so that you may find peace. May Allāh ﷻ help us all and protect us from our own egos, in shā’a Llāh.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
