Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ
(Qur’ān 29:57)
“Kullu Nafsin Dhā’iqatu Al-Mawti ۖ Thumma ‘Ilaynā Turja`ūn“
“Every soul will taste death. Then to Us will you be returned.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Death is something everyone will taste. But while people are alive, they think they will never die. This is the wisdom of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says that on the Day of Judgment, after the accounts are settled, death is brought to a place between Paradise and Hell where it will be slaughtered like an animal.
Once it is slaughtered, immortality becomes eternal. It is the same for the people of both Paradise and Hell. After that, there is no more death. This world is a mortal place. A person in this world will certainly taste death. After that, death will cease forever. It will be slaughtered between Paradise and Hell. After that, there is no more death. Death is in dunyā. It doesn’t exist in Paradise, in ākhirah.
Now, people sometimes think, “What will we do in this eternity?” Even while living, you think you will never die. And despite all the hardship and suffering here, people don’t want to die. They don’t even think about death.
The Hereafter is different. This worldly state doesn’t exist. When one enters Paradise and drinks from the Pool of Kawthar of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, the sorrows, anxieties, and evils of this world will disappear. No jealousy, no evil thoughts, no fear of harm will remain; nothing will remain.
Therefore, the state of the Hereafter, of Paradise, is not like that of dunyā. Even some people who consider themselves scholars ask, “What will we do?” They don’t accept eternity.
However, the promise of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is true. In Paradise there is eternal comfort, beauty, and all kinds of goodness. There will be no more worries like, “What will happen tomorrow? How much of a raise will I get? How much money will I earn? How will I make ends meet?”
There will be comfort, eternal companionship with loved ones, and no separation. No more worries, sadness, or anxiety like, “I will be separated from my loved ones. This one is old and will die. This one is sick, this one has this, this one had an accident, this one has been attacked, this one has done this,” etc.
Therefore, people must strive for the Hereafter, for even the temporary hardships of dunyā are beneficial for the believer. Comfort is also beneficial for the believer. For the non-believer, no matter how comfortable they are, it is of no benefit. The Hereafter is what is truly beneficial.
May Allāh ﷻ not separate us from īmān. These misguided people, who consider themselves scholars and claim they are scholars, are leading people astray, even innocent people and children, ruining their Hereafter. They will be ruined forever, may Allāh ﷻ protect us. May Allāh ﷻ protect us from their evil. May He ﷻ strengthen our īmān, in shā’a Llāh.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
