Our Biggest Duty

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Sohbah on 08 October 2021 by Mawlana Sheikh Muhammad Adil Ar Rabbaniق

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is present. Our Holy Prophet ﷺ departed from this world, but he is “حي”, “Hayy”, alive. He is not dead, our Holy Prophet ﷺ is alive. We should know this. Some people say that he is dead and that you cannot visit or recite for a dead person. He is not dead, he is alive.

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ says, “Whoever makes Salawat and Salam to me, I will greet him back. And I will greet him even more.” Therefore, there is not any time when there is no Salawat on our Holy Prophet ﷺ, it is in every second and every minute. This is one thing.

Another thing is that Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla granted our Holy Prophet ﷺ so much that he is given the highest rank. He is always there for his Ummah. Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla says, “There is a Prophet among you.” “وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ فِيكُمْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ”, “And know that among you is the Messenger of Allah.” (Qur’ān 49:07).

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ is among you and always together with you. We should know this and make Shukr to Allah ﷻ. It is the biggest honor for us to be from his Ummah. We should understand its value.

Therefore, make even more Salawat during this beautiful month. What is the Wazifah now? The Wazifah by the order of Allah ﷻ is to make Salawat as much as you can – 10, 100 or 1,000 times. You are free to make as much as you like. Apart from your daily Wazifah, make sure you make more Salawat. The more you make, the more benefit you get. Your good deeds will be accepted.

And if you remember his ﷺ name in your Du’a, your Du’a will certainly be accepted. You should always remember the name of our Holy Prophet ﷺ in the beginning and the end of your Du’a and make Salawat on him ﷺ. Your Du’a and deeds will be accepted. This is something simple, but people are not showing importance to it.

They show importance and pay attention to useless things. The thing we should care about is to make Salawat on our Holy Prophet ﷺ, to ask for intercession from him. This is our biggest duty. It is not a difficult thing. But as we said, shaytan makes it difficult.

Shukr to Allah ﷻ, we are from his Ummah. Prophets before our Holy Prophet ﷺ wished that they had not been Prophets but people from his Ummah. But they couldn’t be. We are given this honor. It is the greatest honor. The eternal honor is to be from the Ummah of our Holy Prophet ﷺ, not the worldy ranks.

Shukr to Allah ﷻ. May Allah ﷻ not deprive us from this favor.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
