O Mankind, Know Your Weakness!

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

وَخُلِقَ الْإِنسَانُ ضَعِيفًا

(Qur’ān 04:28)

“Wa Khuliqa Al-‘Insānu Da`īfāan”

“And mankind was created weak.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says in Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n, “I will create human being weak”, He ﷻ said. The weakest creature I think Allāh ﷻ created is insān. Because others, even small things you see, maybe an ant can carry three times as their weight. Other animals can also carry. They are strong; stronger than human beings. Even the weakest one, Allāh ﷻ has given them a special thing that human beings cannot do.

So the weakest creature is human being. But when you see – Allāh ﷻ has given them mind and made them to manage to live and to control other creatures. Because Allāh, “سَخَّرَ لَكُم”, “Sakhkhara Lakum”, “Do you not see that Allah has subjected to you whatever is on the earth.” (Qur’ān 22:65). Allāh ﷻ subjected them for human beings. But when human beings get something, they think they are the most powerful.

They are forgetting what they are, their weakness. And they become like tyrants upon other people, upon themselves, upon their family or upon anyone they see weaker than themselves. They are proud, “We are better than him.” This is not good. You must be strong with Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. What Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gave you, you must appreciate, and thank Him ﷻ.

As Sayyidina Omar said, “If the weakest one gets oppressed, he’s the strongest one in front of me. And if the strongest one oppressed people, he is the weakest one in front of me.” Sayyidina Omar said so because it is justice and haqq. Justice is the most important thing in Islām. Now they say “Justice” but there’s no justice. Without justice, there’s no peace, no any good thing.

For this, the just is the strongest among human being. Who is just and is with haqq is strong. If he leaves this, he is the weakest one, he’s even controlled by all human beings, and there isn’t any value for him. Because after that, when Izra’īl comes, he cannot do anything.

May Allāh ﷻ keep us in His ﷻ way and to know our place (limit), our situation, in shā’a Llāh. We are, in shā’a Llāh, strong with Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. This is the most important. May Allāh ﷻ keep us in this way all time, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
