Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

(Qur’ān 49:06)
‘Yā ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū in jā’akum fāsiqun binabain fatabayyanū an tuṣībū qawman bijahālatin fatuṣbiḥū ‘alā mā fa‘altum nādimīn’
‘O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful.’ Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says in Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n. A fāsiq is someone who is untrustworthy. Nothing they do aligns with sharī’ah, ṭarīqah, or humanity. A fāsiq is someone who does not follow the right way. A fāsiq means a kind of evil person.
If those people have brought you news; beware, do not believe them. Examine the truth, says Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Is it true or not? You attack and torment others with the words of this man or woman, and then you will regret it when you hear the truth.
Therefore, this is something to be careful about. Almost ninety-nine percent of the world is considered a fāsiq now. We live in such a world. Muslims and non-Muslims also. Fāsiq does not necessarily mean an atheist or an unbeliever.
There are also many fāsiqs among Muslims; there’s no difference. Because what is a fāsiq? One who lies, lacks trust, and that kind of thing.
Now, those fāsiqs have actually received a worse thing to use with their hands. Whether they call it the media or the internet or whatever. In old times, it used to be that a guy or woman would appear on television and tell a story, and it was a lie. Back then, those who heard heard, and those who didn’t heard didn’t.
But now, fāsiqs have found their opportunity between their hands. They’ve ruined the world. They say, “The one with a mouth speaks.” That’s not only speaking, they’re harming people.
So, wherever you hear a news, be it on the internet or on television or here or there, don’t believe it, don’t make su’ zann (bad presumptions) or do harm. Learn the truth, the origin, so you don’t violate others’ rights. So you don’t violate the servants’ rights.
A person is clear; a scholar is clear, and an oppressor is clear. When a scholar speaks – everyone can make mistakes- but when a scholar speaks, they don’t harm; they speak the truth, they speak the facts. If a scholar says something, they’ll say, “You’re not a scholar, you don’t know anything about religion, īmān, or humanity.”
If one says something to someone, attacking them, harming them, infringing on their rights, that would be a great loss. It would be a great loss. They wouldn’t be harmed, but you would be harmed. The person whom you infringed on their rights won’t be harmed, but you are harmed.
Therefore, we must be careful. There’s no need to jump in and swear at someone. Everything is recorded in the sight of Allāh ﷻ. They will be held accountable in the presence of Allāh ﷻ. Therefore, we must be careful about this matter.
Everyone is now like this; shayṭān has the whole world in his grip now. If one says something, everyone is on the same side, attacking him. If he defends himself, no one hears him, but they stand by the person who does evil.
May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May Allāh ﷻ protect us all from infringing on anyone’s rights, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
