Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says,
مِنْ حُسْنِ إسْلَامِ الْمَرْءِ تَرْكُهُ مَا لَا يَعْنِيهِ
“Min ḥusni islāmi l-mar’i, tarkuhu mā lā ya‘nīh”
“Part of the perfection of one’s Islām is his leaving that which does not concern him.” Sadaka RasuLlah fi-ma qāl aw kama qāl.
Our Prophet ﷺ says, the sign of being a good Muslim is that they don’t interfere in matters that don’t concern them. They don’t interfere in matters that are none of their business. They must be on the right way, they must look at themselves, and they must improve their state.
If others ask you for advice, help, or your opinion, you will tell them. But it’s not right to interfere with someone else and say, “You should do this. I don’t like what you’re doing. You should do this.” That’s not good.
What our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam also means by “ma-lā yani”, is it’s not good to interfere in unnecessary matters or do unnecessary things. You should do whatever is beneficial, take care of yourself, and take care of your family.
If you have friends or acquaintances, you should help them. If they ask you something, if they need help, you should help them.
Now everyone is meddling in everything. They give their opinion with everyone, from the youngest to the oldest. They swear on them, curse them, and dislike them. Look at your own state. How are you doing? Are you better? Improve your state. That’s what’s important.
If everyone would improve their own state, everything would be great. If you’re going to look at someone else’s faults, you should first look at your own faults. Purge that fault. Make yourself a good person. After that, it’s none of your business.
If everyone looked at themselves and improved themselves, there would be a beautiful community, a beautiful society.
Therefore, all the words of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam are jewels and precious. What he ﷺ said is a short ḥadīth, but it’s enough to improve the entire community. Now, the opposite is happening. Everyone is trying to find faults and shortcomings in others.
May Allāh ﷻ improve us all. May Allāh ﷻ not lead us astray from the right way. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
