Marriage Is by Allāh’s ﷻ Wisdom

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

(Qur’ān 49:13)

‘Yā ‘Ayyuhā n-Nāsu ‘Innā Khalaqnākum Min Dhakarin Wa ‘Untha Wa Ja’alnākum Shu’ūbāan Wa Qabā’ila Lita’ārafū Inna ‘Akramakum Inda Allāhi ‘Atqākum’

‘O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you.’ Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says in this ayah karīmah, “We created you from a man and a woman, and multiplied you.” It is a wisdom of Allāh ﷻ for people to meet. When Allāh ﷻ decrees it, He ﷻ brings you together in unexpected places.

They build a home, a ḥalāl marriage, and a beautiful life. What matters is that they are on the way of Allāh ﷻ, that they be good servants of Allāh ﷻ, and that they have a rank in the sight of Allāh ﷻ. This is what’s important when living in dunyā.

This entire Qur’an Karīm, each sacred word of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla contains millions of wisdoms, billions of wisdoms— Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n is filled with infinite wisdom. One of them is people’s marriages, who will they marry, how will it be, who will they have, and how will their children be.

By Allāh’s ﷻ wisdom, He ﷻ brings people together. They build a home. They must build that home for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ. It becomes beautiful only if it pleases Allāh ﷻ, Allāh ﷻ willing. That is the purpose of living in this world.

Shayṭān enters the minds of some people. They say, “I curse and disrespect my parents. Why did you bring me to this world! If you weren’t here, I wouldn’t have come to this world. I don’t want this!” That is the very essence of foolishness. Because that happened by the will of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.

Who will be born, who will die, who will marry; all of this happened by the will of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Following that will, thanking Him ﷻ, and following His ﷻ way and commands both brings peace to people and becomes a means to raising good people.

It’s not good to blame others or to make yourself seem like the victim. Allāh ﷻ created you. Allāh ﷻ has shown you the beautiful way. Go on that way and keep on it.

This is the meaning of life, after all. Life is short. If you appreciate it and make it beautiful, you will be the winner in the end. You will be at peace forever. Otherwise, you will suffer a great deal.

May Allāh ﷻ protect you. May Allāh ﷻ grant those who want to marry good marriages, may they have good families, and may you raise good generations, in shā’a Llāh.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.

Al-Fatiha.
