Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ
(Qur’ān 68:04)
“Wa-innaka la-‘alá khuluqin ‘aẓīm”
“And indeed, you are of a great moral character.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘aẓīm. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla describes Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. AlhamduliLlah, yesterday was the night and today is the day of Isra’ and Mi’rāj.
So we are alhamduliLlah happy with Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Allāh ﷻ described him ﷺ. He ﷺ is the most honorable, the best example for us. And who is the best example to those following Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam? Mawlana Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh al-ad-Dāghestānī was saying the first ṣuḥbah to Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim who was writing it. Mawlana Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh al-ad-Dāghestānī was an ocean, but he was only for Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim. Nobody understood him. He wasn’t looking to find a Murīd or find anyone. He was just focusing on Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim.
Mawlānā Shaykh wrote 7700 ṣuḥbah from Grand Shaykh Mawlana Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghestānī. The first ṣuḥbah was: “الطَّرِيقَةُ كُلِّهَا آدَاب”, “At-ṭarīqah Kulluha ‘Adāb”, “Ṭarīqah is all good manners.” Ṭarīqah means adab, good behavior. For this, ṭarīqah means Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam’s way. His ﷺ Sunnah and everything he’d ﷺ done, they are following. They don’t have bad adab; only good adab.
First towards Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla and Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. They respect. They are not disrespectful. They have Adab. Other people who are not in ṭarīqah, most of them don’t know Adab. They think it is not an important thing. They think Adab, good behavior is not necessary. But it is the first order for Muslims, for Mu’mins, for believers, for any human being.
Good behavior is the acceptable attribute for human beings. Animals don’t have Adab. Anywhere, they can do anything, urinate, defecate, do the big thing, toilet is anywhere, jumping on each other. They don’t have this [adab]. They are animals. You cannot say anything to them. But for human beings, Adab is a very important thing. And when you have Adab, you think. Mankind must think what he’d done, what he’s saying, what he’s doing, why is he doing this, why is he doing that. This is important for human beings.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla in the whole Qur’ān praised Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and gave teachings to people. This is very important. ‘وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ’, ‘Wa-innaka la-‘alá khuluqin ‘aẓīm’, ‘And indeed, you are of a great moral character.’ (Qur’ān 68:04). Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla bears witness to Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, “Your have the highest Adab, good behavior. What you’re doing is the good thing.”
To make people follow him ﷺ, to go after everything he ﷺ had done; which is called the Sunnah. Sunnah is very important for the mu’min, for the believer. For this, Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam gave importance for the Sunnah. “من احيا سنتي عند فساد أمتي فله أجر مئة شهيد أو سبعين شهيد”. “Who performs my ﷺ Sunnah, what I ﷺ had done, Allāh ﷻ rewards him as a hundred Shahīd.” The Shahīd can make shafā’ah for 70 people.
So this is very important. People are not looking. Ṭarīqah people are alhamduliLlah following the Sunnah. They want to do as much as they can. But other people, SubhanAllah we see the people, especially those who are against ṭarīqah. There are people who have no problem with ṭarīqah but are not in ṭarīqah. But there are people against ṭarīqah. They see ṭarīqah as an enemy. So these people don’t care for Sunnah, they are not doing Sunnah. Even most of them are not praying Sunnah. They say only four rak’āt is enough. And many Sunnahs, Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam insists on doing them.
And they, as we said from the beginning, have no Adab. They don’t have any Adab or respect for Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. When you do Sunnah, this is respect for Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, and Allāh ﷻ will be happy with you. Allāh ﷻ will be pleased with you. When you do this, He ﷻ rewards you from ten to thousands and thousands of rewards. When you do what His ﷻ beloved one had done, when you imitate Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, Allāh ﷻ gives you that reward. And for each act of Sunnah you get the reward of a hundred Shahīd.
We are, of course, living in a very difficult time. The enemy, shayṭān is first attacking to finish this religion, but Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla protects it. Shayṭān wants to destroy it from the inside. Because from the outside – you see the fort from the outside is very strong in many examples, so he comes from the inside and destroys the inside. This is what is happening in these days. But also, all this cannot be destroyed. Who isn’t thinking will be finished. Haqq, right cannot be finished.
AlhamduliLlah we nearly reached 1450 years from Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Many kinds of these people have been coming from the beginning to destroy. All of them destroyed and defeated. And when they reach the other world, they regret it. They’ll ask if they can come back but it is finished. You must think while you are in life.
For this, we are saying to these people: repent, ask for forgiveness from Allāh ﷻ, and come back to the right way which is open for everyone. Many people ask us sometimes when we come to a Dergah, “Can we come?” AlhamduliLlah we say, “The Dergah’s door is open all the time for everybody; not closed.” As Mawlana Jalāluddīn Rūmī says, “Come to the Dergah. If you make a mistake once, come. If you make it ten times, also come. A hundred times, also come.” This is ṭarīqah.
This is the mercy of ṭarīqah, which is coming from Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. They are not leaving anybody who wants mercy and wants to be with them; there’s no problem. They forgive. They don’t have any hate for people, only hate for those who are not accepting Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. And still, they’re asking for them to come to way of Allāh ﷻ, way of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.
AlhamduliLlah Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim was in these nights praying, asking for forgiveness for people, for the ummah and for all human beings to come to the way of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. His whole life was like this. AlhamduliLlah he came many times to this area also. All he did was just for the sake of Allāh ﷻ. Many times we saw him looking like he is tired, but he still continued. He was very old at that time, we told him, “Don’t tire yourself too much.” He said, “These people want to see me, so I must see them.”
As the saying, when you see one beloved for Allāh ﷻ, Allāh ﷻ rewards you. This nūr comes to you, to your heart from Awliyā’u Llāh. AlhamduliLlah we are with the people, many Awliyā’u Llāh everywhere, every time. Here also, we are gathering for the sake of Allāh ﷻ, Allāh ﷻ loves us. WaliyyuLlah means a beloved one for Allāh ﷻ. For this, in shā’a Llāh, all of you are Awliyā’u Llāh alhamduliLlah. Awliyā’u Llāh doesn’t need to fly, doesn’t need to make miracles, he just keeps his heart with Allāh ﷻ, and Allāh ﷻ loves him.
Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm: ‘قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللَّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ’, ‘If you love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you.’ (Qur’ān 03:31). Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm. In this ayah in the Qur’ān, Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is saying, “If you love Allāh ﷻ, follow me ﷺ. If you follow me ﷺ, Allāh ﷻ will love you.” AlhamduliLlah, this is very important also to follow Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.
As we said, follow everything he ﷺ had done and accept. Do not say that something is not acceptable. Everything, every movement, anything Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said is pure benefit for us, pure benefit for human beings. Why is this world like this now? Everything is miserable. Even the sea, oceans are full of dirt, full of bad things. Because they are not following what Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says.
They say, “We are green. We are black. We are red.” This is also from shayṭān’s tricks. Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam was the first one who looked after nature, after everything. Everything Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says is a 100% benefit for people. The first thing he talked about was water. You cannot put dirt in water. You cannot urinate in water. If one urinates in water, Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam cursed him. “La’natu Llah” he ﷺ said. “La’natu Llah” is said for iblis. When you urinate in water, you are like Iblis. This is very important. The Muslim must also know this.
The Muslim looks after cleaning, after his eating; what you’re eating, what you’re doing. Because most Muslims now have plenty of food. They eat and then become ill. Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, when you eat don’t get full a hundred percent. You must stop eating when you’ve had enough. Don’t eat leaving no place for water and no place for air. Then, you cannot breathe when you finish eating. We give this example, a small example to know how Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam speaks for the good of all human beings, not only Muslims; for all humanity. When he ﷺ says something or does something, there must be millions of wisdoms in it from Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.
AlhamduliLlah, as we said also, we are in a blessed night. Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam went on this night journey and then a journey to heavens also. In all this, Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam saw everything, every wisdom and every creation Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla created from His ﷻ creation; the creation we don’t know about. Still, these people are now looking, searching for science and other. Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam saw them all in one night, and knew them.
The knowledge, what we now know, from technology and all of this came through Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. There cannot be any knowledge coming without him ﷺ; it cannot be. Non-believers are trying and trying, but if our Prophet ﷺ is not giving permission, not coming through him ﷺ, they can never hold this technology, this knowledge. And this knowledge is nothing compared to Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam’s knowledge; nothing, not even one drop from his ﷺ knowledge.
AlhamduliLlah this is a big ni’mah, a big favor for us to be from his ﷺ nation, to be following him ﷺ. We must thank Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla billions of times that we are in this place, praising Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and Allāh ﷻ showering us from His ﷻ mercy. We are very lucky. We are very lucky. Lucky is not those who are running in the streets with a car or a motorcycle or is in a bad place. They try to be happy, but Allāh ﷻ will never give them happiness. Happiness in the heart, not outside. So Alhamdulillah we are happy to be dust for Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam’s shoes.
We cannot compare ourselves with Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Who knows this is the truly happy one. If he is not happy to be dust for the shoes of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, he will never be happy. SubhanAllah, when you go to Madīnah Munawwara and you pass by Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, you feel really ashamed. When you pass through this place, people are shouting and so. But this is all from Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. You feel ashamed so he ﷺ put these police to make people go quickly. If he ﷺ doesn’t want, they won’t be there. So they are there to make people know how lucky they are to visit him ﷺ, to be in front of him ﷺ. Even one second is enough for who are there. Because there are showers of mercy coming on him.
Some people think if they say, “I’m like this, I’m like that,” they will be happy. No, don’t say this please. Have respect for Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, adab, good behavior towards Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Know your value. You are nothing. You are, as we said, not even dust on Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam’s shoes; “Naal Sharīf.” You are nothing. If you know this, Allāh ﷻ will be happy with you. If you said, “I am Shaykh, I am big, I am Wali, I am big Awliyā’, I am like this, like that,” it will be not good for you. Allāh ﷻ will not be happy with you. All Awliyā’u Llāh say, as Mawlānā Shaykh was saying about himself, “We are nothing. We are only khādim for the Ummah. May Allāh ﷻ accept us as a servant for the Ummah, for the sake of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.”
May Allāh ﷻ bless you. May Allāh ﷻ accept this night. Of course, yesterday also was a blessed night but Allāh ﷻ gives for the intention. The most important thing is the intention, says Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. He ﷺ is the most beloved one. And, in shā’a Llāh, this night also pray, make du’ā’. Our gift from Allāh ﷻ is du’ā’, praying. Allāh ﷻ accepts for dunyā and for ākhirah also, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ keep you safe from bad things, bad people. And, in shā’a Llāh, to respect Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, and be beloved for him ﷺ and beloved for Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. May Allāh ﷻ make us follow his ﷺ Sunnah, his ﷺ way; not going out of it.
And may Allāh ﷻ give hidāyah to these people who are cheated by shayṭān. Because alhamduliLlah there are many people coming back from this wrong way and they are defending the way of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, way of Awliyā’u Llāh. We are not hopeless. AlhamduliLlah and when they come back, many people also come to the right way. May Allāh ﷻ give hidāyah to all of them. Because as we said, the heart of the Muslim is not asking for revenge, only asking for mercy for them, and for all of us, for Islām, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
