Look at What’s Eternal

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says in Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n, certainly those who believe will be the winners. This is His ﷻ promise, His ﷻ word. This world belongs to Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. All the universe belongs to Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. This place we live in is the place where mankind are. And there are all kinds of mankind.

There are infidels, there are Muslims, there are believers, there are non-believers. Among them all, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has promised the believers that this world will be theirs, with Allāh’s ﷻ permission. His ﷻ promise is true. Therefore, there is no despair in believers.

This place is as its name implies. Place also means something that eats people [in Turkish]. Therefore, no one should think that this will remain with him. Who will remain is whom Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla wants to remain. They will also be the winners. The soil in this place cleanses everything. That’s why, the dirt and filth don’t matter. What matters is to be with Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.

They are the ones who are the winners. Others eat and win nothing. A person does not keep today what he ate yesterday. It goes away. And he wants again. Yesterday you ate so much until you burst. Where is it? It disappeared. You did all kinds of badness, where are they? You had fun, you did evil, you did everything. Today, again, there is nothing.

That’s why, you have to look at what exists. What exists is being with Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla; that is existence. Otherwise, it is nothingness, it is useless. Let the things you do be of benefit to you. Stay away from things that will harm you, that do not benefit you. They will make you regret. But that regret will not benefit you. The one who has a mind will follow the eternal. He will look at the eternal. The eternal is Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, His ﷻ way.

As we said, even if the whole world was yours, you would still eat a little. And when that time passes, you will have nothing left. It will have no taste. You will have nothing left. You can’t enjoy yesterday’s food today. You can’t enjoy the badness you did yesterday. What remains and is eternal is the way of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. You must look at it.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, “وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ”, “Waada Allāhu Al-Ladhīna ‘Āmanū Minkum WaAmilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Layastakhlifannahum Fī Al-‘Arđ”, “Allah has promised those who have believed among you and done righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession [to authority] upon the earth.” (Qur’ān 24:55).

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has promised, those who believe, those who are patient, those who do good deeds on the right way that their degree is everlasting, it is high. Their deeds are not in vain.

May Allāh ﷻ make us among them. May He ﷻ make us steadfast on that way, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
