Live for Goodness

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

May it be of goodness, in shā’a Llāh, and may it be a means for goodness. Goodness begets goodness, and evil begets evil.

Therefore, shukr to Allāh ﷻ, the way shown by Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim and the mashāyikh is a way of goodness for humanity, for Muslims, for everyone.

They say, “If you do good, you will find goodness.” Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla will not forget even the smallest good deed you do; you will receive its reward.

And if you do even a little evil, and you do not repent, you will find its punishment, says Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Our ‎Prophet ﷺ and all the prophets taught this to people.

Now people think that these good deeds are only for the hereafter, that doing good is only for the hereafter. This is for everything. It is for this world and the hereafter. It is not just for the hereafter.

If you do good in this world, you will surely find its reward. If you do evil, you will surely suffer its punishment here. You suffer here, and you will suffer in the Hereafter; if you don’t repent.

If you committed an evil act here and suffered its punishment, if you think, “I did something wrong. At least I suffered the punishment here. To avoid suffering it in the Hereafter,” you repent, seek forgiveness, and turn to Allāh ﷻ.

Then you will be saved from the punishment of the Hereafter. But the punishment for the evil done in this world will certainly be punished.

That’s why this is the way of Muslims, the way of īmān, the way of Islām, the beautiful way. At least here, you will have its consequences or punishment. Because dunyā is a place of test.

Something will certainly happen. You suffer that punishment both to come to your senses and to get rid of it.

But if you are stubborn, it will be of no benefit in this world. What you do from evil will only bring suffering in dunyā, and the punishment will be even greater in ākhirah. May Allāh ﷻ protect us.

People must know this. All the Prophets, all the Companions, and all believers live for goodness. They do not desire evil. They love what Allāh ﷻ loves and they do not love what Allāh ﷻ dislikes.

May Allāh ﷻ protect us all. May Allāh ﷻ protect us from evil, sins, and wickedness. Wa min Allāh at-Tawfiq.
