Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

رَبَّنَا أَخْرِجْنَا نَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا غَيْرَ الَّذِي كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ
(Qur’ān 35:37)
“Rabbanā ‘Akhrijnā Namal Şāliĥāan Ghayra Al-Ladhī Kunnā Namalu”
“Our Lord, remove us; we will do righteousness – other than what we were doing!” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, in qiyāmah, those in hell will wish, “If only He ﷻ would send us back to this world, and we would not do these evil deeds but other righteous deeds.” But after we get there, a person can’t go back.
Therefore, while living in this world, a person must know its value, the value of his life. He will find its value by worship, by being on the way of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. What is the worthless, useless life? The one far from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, far from worship, far from obedience, far from goodness. That life is worthless. It would have passed in vain anyways.
So if this life is going to be full, if it is going to be beneficial, it is in always being on the way of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Otherwise, there is no such thing as benefit; it is nothing but harm. Harm and evil, both for oneself and others.
A believer is always in benefit. No matter what happens to a believer, because he is on the way of Allāh ﷻ, Allāh ﷻ will record everything, his deeds, even his intentions, as reward. For example, if he made an intention to do something but he couldn’t do it. One reward is recorded for it. If he does it, ten rewards are recorded; one hundred rewards, one thousand. As much as Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla wants, He ﷻ writes.
But if he couldn’t do it, as we said, he will also be rewarded. If he intended to do something bad and he couldn’t do it, nothing will be written. If his intention is to do something bad, but he doesn’t do it, no sin will be recorded for him. Because Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla does not oppress anyone, and He ﷻ honors those who do them.
If he commits a sin, one sin is recorded; not ten sins are recorded. But the reward is the opposite. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has bestowed this gift upon believers, mankind. And mankind doesn’t appreciate it. They live a worthless life. May Allāh ﷻ not separate us from the right way. May Allāh ﷻ grant us according to our intentions, in shā’a Llāh.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
