Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says in this Ayatu l-Karīmah,
“وَلِتُكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ وَلِتُكَبِّرُوا اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا هَدَاكُمْ”
(Qur’ān 02:185)
“Wa Litukmilū Al-Iddata Wa Litukabbirū AllahaAlá Mā Hadākum”
“And [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you.”
There is a [specific] time for the month of Ramaḍān. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is saying you should complete it. And after you complete it, it is ‘Īd. In ‘Īd, you make takbīr and tahlīl.
There are two ‘Īds for Muslims. The ‘Īds in dunyā are two ‘Īds. The first one is the ‘Īd of Ramaḍān (‘Īdu l-Fiṭr), and ‘Īdu l-Aḍḥa. There are other holidays that they made up so that people don’t appreciate those two. They made up a lot of holidays. Indeed, our ancestors said it beautifully, “Every day is a holiday for the madman.” When you are mindless, you don’t know a holiday. The holidays that must be known as holidays are the holidays that Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has granted us. They are this ‘Īd of Ramaḍān and ‘Īdu l-Aḍḥa.
Honoring them is attaining Allāh’s ﷻ pleasure. Not valuing them harms a person. Even if there is no material harm, there is a spiritual harm. They do not respect or value what Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has bestowed upon us. Whereas what must be valued is only what Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla wants and loves. This is what must be valued. Its value is great. This ‘Īd is appreciated in dunyā and even more appreciated in ākhirah.
Of course, for people of today, nothing has any worth anymore. Nothing has any value anymore; not money, not gold, not a word, not honor, not goodness. Nothing has any value for these people. They say, “Inflation”. All of it has undergone inflation and is gone. No value is left. Until thirty years ago, a person could easily spend a month with one gold coin. Now, one can’t even spend a week with it. He can barely make it through the day. That’s why, nothing has any value anymore in dunyā. A person should know the value of ākhirah so that he can benefit from it.
Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, these beautiful days have passed. Believers had beautiful days. It has been beautiful for those who believe, those who are Muslims and perform worship. No matter how much troubles there are, they have no effect. For the virtue and beauty of Ramaḍān, Allāh ﷻ covers them all. But there is an exception.
Those who are enemies of Islām never have comfort. They have no goodness. Those who are enemies of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, those who are at war with Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla cannot find happiness. There is peace in Islām. There is happiness. There is beauty. Every goodness is in Islām. Islām is a gift to humanity from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Islām is guidance and a gift. Therefore, those who follow Islām and value Islām find value.
As we said, the end of Ramaḍān, shukr to Allāh ﷻ, is ‘Īd. Every day is like a ‘Īd anyways. Masha’Allāh everyone senses Allāh’s ﷻ gifts, manifestations and beauties in their heart. Even if a person sometimes finds it hard during daytime, that hardship becomes a beauty. There is relief inside the person, there is happiness. He does not sense anything bad. He does not sense anything not good. In the evening, as our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, that joy and happiness of a believer, no human being can find like it. Those who do not fast cannot find it.
May Allāh ﷻ bless these days for us. They have passed. May Allāh ﷻ, in shā’a Llāh, grant us to reach next year, and for the whole world to become Muslim, with Mahdi ‘alayhi s-salām, in shā’a Llāh. We have hope. Because dunyā is not getting better, it is getting worse. The one who will save it is the one whom our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam gave good tidings about, Mahdi ‘alayhi s-salām. In shā’a Llāh, we are waiting for him. May Allāh ﷻ send him soon, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
