Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm
The month of Shawwal is the month of Eid, so any day we say ‘Eid Mubarak’ we hope it’s Eid, insha`Allah. Shawwal, the month after Ramadan, is a blessed month. Alhamdulillah, the six days we fast from Shawwal are the days in which Allah ﷻ created the universe. These six days of the month of Shawwal are mentioned in the Qur’an many times.
It is preferable to break fast for one day of Eid and then fast the six days, one after the other. But if you could not manage to fast them in that time, you can fast them until the end of the month of Shawwal. It is a very good act of worship.
Prophet ﷺ said that whoever fasted Ramadan and followed it with the six days of fasting in Shawwal, it is as if they fasted the whole year, and every good deed is rewarded tenfold. Thirty days of Ramadan are rewarded like 360 days of the year. That much is rewarded, that many good deeds are written for that person.
Shawwal is a blessed month. Prophet ﷺ was married to Hazreti Aishaر, his beloved wife, in the month of Shawwal. She was always giving good tidings that any of her relatives who wanted to marry should marry in the month of Shawwal. It is a good month to marry also.
Alhamdulillah, nearly every night we have nikah here, it is good. Allah ﷻ created the whole universe in six days. Allah ﷻ can say kun fayakun, “Be, and it will be,” but He did it in six days to teach us and for us to understand.
Subhanallah, the last of the six days is the day of Jum`a, Friday. He created Hazreti Adam (AS) in the last minute of the day, it was Asr time. Qiyamah/Judgement Day will be in the time between Asr and Maghrib.
They say the timing from Adam (AS) till Resurrection Day is like the time between Asr and Maghrib. The Prophet ﷺ said that the time from when he became a Prophet until the time of Resurrection Day is very short. He showed his index and ring finger touching, not apart from each other.
Subhanallah, now it is the end of the time; the time is getting close to Judgement Day. Maulana Sheikh Mehmetق the other day was telling that the age of Adam (AS) is coming to an end. Prophet ﷺ was saying that if his Ummah is good it has the lifetime of “one day,” and if it is bad, going astray, it has the lifetime of “half a day.” Then Prophet ﷺ recited the ayah:
“A Day with your Lord is as a thousand years of your reckoning.” (22:47)
So now, we are waiting for Mahdi (AS) because Prophet ﷺ gave good tidings that in the End of Time before Judgement Day the world will be in very bad condition. There will be much oppression, bad things, and sins, but in the end one of his ﷺ grandchildren will appear.
He (AS) will appear and bring to the world justice, mercy, peace, and Islam. This will last for 40 years. After that, it will again go downhill. Qiyamah, the Doomsday, will not happen until there is no one left to say ‘La ilaha illaLlah’ or to have an atom of Iman in their heart, then Qiyamah will happen.
This is good tidings for us and bad for the unbelievers. InshaAllah it will be okay, and Allah ﷻ makes us be together with Hazreti Mahdi (AS), and inshaAllah we are also lucky to see Hazreti Isa (AS), insha`Allah.
