Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla enjoins upon us goodness, He ﷻ enjoins justice, He ﷻ enjoins beauty. He ﷻ sent Prophets to fulfill those commands. He ﷻ said, “Follow their way. They are the ones who show the way. We gave them both prophethood and a book.” Every messenger was sent a book.
He ﷻ sent books like Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n. Of course, none is left from those books. There is only Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n. “We also gave them wisdom.” Wisdom is important. Because knowledge without wisdom is useless. “Follow them. Follow His ﷻ guidance,” says Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.
How will we fulfill this command? Surely, by following their way, the way they had shown. Of course, as we said, the last book, Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n, was sent with our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. We must follow that way, the way he ﷺ showed.
He ﷻ says, “Follow them.” Don’t act according to your own minds. Follow what he ﷺ showed, follow what he ﷺ said. Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, “After me, follow my Sunnah and the Khulafa’ Rāshidīn who will come after me. Be upon the Sunnah of my caliphs.”
That Sunnah is important. Following that way is important. Those who do not follow the Sunnah gain nothing; they lose a lot. Most importantly, they lose their īmān. May Allāh ﷻ protect us.
That way of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is by Allāh’s ﷻ order. Now some people who don’t even know themselves have appeared. They say, “No, we don’t recognize the Sunnah. We don’t recognize ḥadīth.” But they are wrong from the start. They’re striving in vain.
What they’re doing, may Allāh ﷻ protect us, makes them unbelievers. That’s what it will ultimately lead to. Following the Sunnah of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and what he ﷺ said, will elevate our rank in the sight of Allāh ﷻ and your end will be good.
May Allāh ﷻ not separate us from that way, in shā’a Llāh. May we go on their way, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
