Forgetting Him ﷺ Is Heedlessness

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam always thought of his ﷺ Ummah saying “Ummati, Ummati”, and wished for its salvation. Those who honor him ﷺ from his ﷺ Ummah will be saved. Those who do not honor him ﷺ will find themselves in a dire situation. Those who are his ﷺ enemies will find themselves in a completely terrible predicament.

They will be with shayṭān; both here and the hereafter. Those who are enemies of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam are enemies of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. And those who are enemies of Allāh ﷻ will never win, will never achieve victory. They will always be in loss. Even if they seem to have won, their end will always be bad.

Therefore, we must be on the way of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam and honor him ﷺ. The more we revere and exalt him ﷺ, the higher our maqām (rank) will be in the sight of Allāh ﷻ. Those who do not respect him ﷺ are always worthless.

Even if someone says, “I have so much, I’ve studied so much, I have so much wealth, I have so many followers,” those things are worthless. What is valuable is our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, those who follow him ﷺ and those who honor him ﷺ.

All the Prophets, the Prophets of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, wished to be among the Ummah of our Prophet ﷺ. Those Prophets saw the truth. Because they are not like ordinary people, because they see the exalted maqām and greatness of our Prophet ﷺ, they wish to be among his ﷺ Ummah.

And we, thank Allāh ﷻ, are from his ﷺ Ummah. We must be on his ﷺ way. To forget him ﷺ and become engrossed in dunyā is heedlessness.

May Allāh ﷻ not make us among the heedless, in shā’a Llāh. Heedlessness is bad. Being heedless means falling into heedlessness. Heedlessness means passing through life without knowing what it is, and then suddenly waking up. Heedlessness is like a sleep, like drunkenness. When you wake up, it’s too late, life is over.

Therefore, may Allāh ﷻ protect us and not make us among the heedless. Wa min Allāh at-Tawfiq.
