Everything Is in Qur’ān

Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, “Learn the Qur’ān and teach it”. Qur’ān is the holy book sent by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla to this ummah through our Holy Prophet ﷺ. Everything is in it, says Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. There is Shifa’ (cure) and barakah.

There is thawāb. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says there are ten thawāb in every letter in the Qur’ān. Not just every word, but every letter, says our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. In Alif-Lām-Mīm: Alif is one letter; ten thawāb are written for it. Ten thawāb are written for Lām, says our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. And the same for Mīm. If a word consists of three letters, thirty thawāb is given. Not only for every word but for every letter, ten thawāb are written. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gives such favours to the one who reads Qur’ān and listens to Qur’ān.

People must certainly read it. As the duty of murīds, we must read one juz’ daily as waẓīfah anyway, shukr to Allāh ﷻ. We must do it. It is actually easy to learn Qur’ān. Rarely do some people not learn it, and that is by the wisdom of Allāh ﷻ. But normally, learning Qur’āh ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n is not a difficult thing. Some people learn to read in three days. Some can learn in a week. Normally, in average, people can learn it in a month. As we said, some people can learn quicklier, and some even quicklier. But some can learn in three or five months, even in a year.

We must try our best. It opens our mind, and barakah comes. It is Shifa’ (cure). It is barakah. All kinds of goodness are in it. It is the eternal word of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. It is His ﷻ Word. It is given by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla to people, to believers as a miracle that we have in our hands. Miracles are everywhere, but this is a direct connection. Reciting the Word of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla continuously is a great favour. If people think about it, it is such a great grant. It is such a great kindness. The Word of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is always in your hands. You can read any part of it. You can touch it with your hands.

We must know its value. It is so precious. The most precious thing is the Word of Allāh ﷻ. Listen to it and read it. Even who don’t understand its meaning – that is another specialty of it. You don’t have to understand its meaning. When you read, you attain this thawāb. May Allāh ﷻ make all of us from the people of Qur’ān. May He ﷻ not keep us away from the Qur’ān.
