Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ
(Qur’ān 39:07)
“Wa Lā Taziru Wāziratun Wizra ‘Ukhra”
“And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, one cannot bear someone else’s sin. A person will be punished for his own sin, if he commits a sin and doesn’t repent. If he repents, his sin will be removed. But if he doesn’t repent, no one will bear his sin or be punished instead of him.
But a person who shows the bad way to others and makes them do evil is punished again for every person who makes that badness [imitating him]. But as we said, if a person sins himself and repents, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla forgives him. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is forgiving.
But if he does it and forces it upon others, and even if he doesn’t force it, “I did this, it’s good. You should do it too. Let me teach you how this evil is done, how this sin is committed.” If he teaches him, he will also bear his punishment. Because it harms someone else. Surely, whoever harms others will be punished.
They say they are doing so much evil in the world. There are people who think they are smart. Even Muslims say so, “Why is Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla not punishing them?” How do you know that He ﷻ isn’t? Every evil has a punishment. As we said, if one doesn’t repent, he will bear that punishment. People mustn’t have doubt about that.
But Allāh ﷻ is forgiving. That forgiveness for everyone. We can’t say, “His ﷻ forgiveness is for this but not for that.” In order not to be punished, one must repent and ask forgiveness. He must repent. We must repent from the sins we make, from the evil we do. If someone has violated someone else’s right, he has to ask him for forgiveness. That’s what it is.
“This man did so and so. He perished that many people. He did so much evil. He oppressed so much. He’s wandering like a pig and doing evil.” Don’t be afraid at all. Also, Ḥāshā (far from it); questioning is harm to you also. It is Terk Adab, forsaking adab. It is lack of adab towards Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.
Are you going to teach Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla His ﷻ work? Allāh ﷻ is Al-Qādir, Al-Muktadir. He ﷻ does whatever He ﷻ wants. You cannot question Him ﷻ! It is absolutely impermissible! Even if such a thought passes inside you, you must repent and ask forgiveness. If He ﷻ wants, the whole world dies.
You can’t say “Why?” Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is the owner of everything. He ﷻ does whatever He ﷻ wants. And He ﷻ doesn’t do what He ﷻ doesn’t want.
May Allāh ﷻ give us and people mind and understanding. May Allāh ﷻ help us to not oppress, not commit sins and ask forgiveness for the sins we’ve made, in shā’a Llāh.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
