Drinking While Standing

A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm.

Watch the Suhbah on YouTube.

Now we will say a few words, following the order of Mawlana Shaykh Nazimق as we are in Dergah insha’Allah, after Fajr prayer it will be beneficial for all of us InSha’Allah.

People now all over the world don’t want the many Sunnahs our Holy Prophet ﷺ and the many beneficial things for humanity. They have no idea even about the simplest one that everyone does. They don’t know that it’s bad. They think it’s normal. They eat and drink while standing. It is not from Sunnah. It is not beneficial for people either; it causes harm.

You must drink while sitting down. You must eat while sitting down. At least, you must do it as it is a Sunnah of our Holy Prophet ﷺ. You will also attain the reward of a hundred Shaheed, and it is good for your health. Children, youngsters and everyone drink bottles and drinks on the way while standing. Whereas, if it was a cup they won’t be able to drink while walking.

Only Zamzam is to be drunk while standing. It mustn’t be drank while sitting. You must drink it while standing up. Secondly, after performing ablution, take a sip while standing towards Kiblah, with the Basmala. Apart from these all of them must be done while sitting down.

You see everywhere at restaurants, people standing up while eating and drinking. People think there’s no difference. They say, “It doesn’t matter. Standing and sitting are the same.” No, they are not the same.

The words of our Holy Prophet ﷺ are important for Muslims. His ﷺ orders are important. When done, Allāh ﷻ gives rewards, Thawab and health to people.

May Allāh ﷻ be pleased with us all.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha

There are recited Qur’an Khatms, Surahs, Yasin, Tasbihat, Tahlil and Salawat. We gift them all to the soul of our Holy Prophet ﷺ, his ﷺ Ahlu l-Bayt and Sahabah, to the souls of all Anbiya, Awliya, Asfiya and Mashayikh. Especially our Shaykh Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, and Hajjah Anne. To the souls of all our passed ones. For goodness to come and evil to be gone.

Li-Llahi Ta’ala l-Fatiha.
