Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm: “ظَهَرَ الْفَسَادُ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِي النَّاسِ”, “Žahara l-Fasādu Fī l-Barri Wa l-Baĥri Bimā Kasabat ‘Aydī n-Nāsi”, “Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned.” (Qur’ān 30:41). Sadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is saying there is corruption both on earth and in seas. It is ruined. Because of the badness and sins of people, there is goodness neither on earth, nor in seas. Everything is ruined. They have destroyed it. Mankind has destroyed this world. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says they did it with their hands. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla granted this world to us as clean and beautiful. But mankind has ruined it by doing badness continuously.
As they’ve ruined it, of course, this world has an end. It will be cleaned with qiyāmah. Certainly, first of all, Mahdī ‘alayhi s-salām will come and clean it. However, mankind got used to comitting sins. In the last times of Mahdī ‘alayhi s-salām and ’Īsa ‘alayhi s-salām, people will start doing evil again. The world will once again become dirty. And then only with qiyāmah will it be cleaned. It will be completely clean. Whoever is meant to go to paradise will go to paradise, and who is meant to go to hell will go to hell.
Therefore, cleanliness is among the conditions of īmān. Without cleanliness, there is no īmān. None of your deeds will be accepted. A prayer is not valid without ablution. And it must be the best of cleanliness and everything. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gave you good things. Ask for good things
and do good things. If others don’t do so, it is useful for you to do it. And there is loss for those who don’t do. They will carry its punishment themselves. Let them think about their ending themselves.
Everyone is responsible for their own condition and situation. If everyone says “This one is not doing, so I won’t do it, too” – Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says in Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Shān, ‘وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ’, ‘Wa Lā Taziru Wāziratun Wizra ‘Ukhra’, ‘And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another.’ (Qur’ān 39:07). No one is responsible for another. No one should think that if someone is not doing something, he can escape by not doing it too. If you do it, you will be saved. If you don’t do, you will not be saved just like him.
May Allāh ﷻ protect us from the evil of our egos and from the evil of people. Because dirtiness is not only [external], it is everywhere, even in morality. Mankind has reached the peak of dirtiness; in relations, shopping and everywhere. People have neither conscience nor īmān anymore.
Therefore, don’t do something because others do it. Those who were aboard the ark of Nūḥ ‘alayhi s-salām were saved. Even if few people, they were saved. The majority was kāfirs. They were bad people. Those who were with them were destroyed too. And only few people were saved.
Therefore, don’t think you will be saved by doing what the majority does. Be on the way of Allāh ﷻ. Be with Allāh ﷻ, and you will be saved. May Allāh ﷻ protect us.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
