Don’t Be Friends with Shayṭān

A‘ūdhu bi-Llāhi mina sh-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:

“إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ فَاتَّخِذُوهُ عَدُوًّا”

(Qur’an 35:06)

“Inna Ash-Shayţāna LakumAdūwun Fa AttakhidhūhuAdūwāan”

“Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, shayṭān is your enemy, know him as an enemy. Do not take him as a friend. Never be friends with an enemy.

He who is a friend of shayṭān becomes in loss. He becomes with him. A friend leads his friend: either to hell or to paradise. Therefore, do not be with shayṭān. Stay away from the shayṭān. His friendship is useless. His friendship is a disaster, it is evil, it is every kind of mischief.

So, you must stay away from shayṭān. You shall not do what he says. How do we do so? How do we know what he’s saying? Shayṭān orders evil. He orders to do ḥarām things. If you do them, you will be his friend.

As we said, to be his friend is to be together, to be with him and to follow his way. That’s how you become shayṭān’s friend. But Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says be his enemy. If you become enemies, you will be saved, your end will be good. And your abode will eventually be paradise.

May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May Allāh ﷻ protect us all from being the friend of shayṭān, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
