Be Happy with Allāh’s ﷻ Gift

‘Īd Mubarak! ‘Īdu l-Aḍḥā, the feast of ḥajj! They used to call it the feast of ḥajjis in Cyprus. May it be blessed! May it be good in shā’a Llāh. May we reach many more years when Islām spreads all over the world in shā’a Llāh. We are reaching Mahdī ‘alayhi s-salām. We are waiting for him in shā’a Llāh. Because Islām is good for all people. It is a favour given by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla to people. In order for all people to attain it in shā’a Llāh, Mahdī ‘alayhi s-salām will come and make all the world Muslim with the permission of Allāh ﷻ. The promise of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is true. The promise of our Holy Prophet ﷺ and everything he ﷺ said is true. Everything will happen in shā’a Llāh.

‘Īd, these feasts, shukr to Allāh ﷻ are the good days Allāh ‘Azza wa Jalla told about. And we have ‘Īd treats. Just like children wait for their treats, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gives us too. We are Allāh’s ﷻ servants. In order to celebrate ‘Īd, sulṭāns used to treat guests who visited them. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is Sulṭān of all sulṭāns. Certainly, He ﷻ has treats for us in these beautiful days, both spiritual and physical. Spiritual ones are better and more beautiful. We must make shukr to Allāh ﷻ for reaching these blessed days. When people know this and rejoice, they receive from the beneficence of Allāh ﷻ. Allāh ﷻ likes it when we know this, when we understand these beautiful favours of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla and make shukr for them. If we say “What is this feast?” it becomes of no benefit. Or they say, “I don’t want ‘Īd. I am performing my worship anyway.” No! There must be joy on these feasts. Because we are lucky servants of Allāh ﷻ to have deserved this.

It is the duty of Muslims to make shukr for the given favours. And it is from Adab to make shukr and praise. The biggest Adab we must show is to make shukr for things given by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, for our every breath and our every minute, as this is the way of truth. May Allāh ﷻ bless these days in shā’a Llāh.

Those who are in ḥajj completed their ḥajj today shukr to Allāh ﷻ. And for those who are not in ḥajj, it brings great benefit to make qurbān as it is wājib for Ḥanafīs. Other madhhabs do it as sunnah mu’akkadah that our Holy Prophet ﷺ did. It is because our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam told Sayyidatinā Fāṭima to make qurbān as it is told in ḥadīth. For every drop of blood that flows out all your sins are forgiven. And you attain thawab as much as its hair. It has a lot of virtue. Allāh ﷻ has given this as thawāb to people and to those who are in need.

However, shayṭān doesn’t sit still. He says “You are slaughtering animals. You are killing so many animals”. We are slaughtering them. But what we slaughter as Muslims in a year, they slaughter as much in a day. They’ve become flesh eaters themselves, but that of Muslims offends their eye. They have swollen from eating meat themselves. Poor people eat from what we slaughter. And poor ones either eat it once a year, or not at all. Therefore, shayṭan doesn’t sit still. He wants all kinds of badness. He doesn’t want any help to poor people.

Therefore, some Muslim people fall under his influence and question this. Questioning this is a sin. It is the barakah of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Animals become more when they are slaughtered. And it is a good thing for the animal which is slaughtered. That animal wants this. When all the animals are slaughtered as wājib on this ‘Īd they feel great joy. Don’t say animals don’t feel joy. They do rejoice. It is a great luck for them to be slaughtered for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ.

Therefore, some people go against Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla without realizing it. Who don’t accept this have doubt in their īmān, may Allāh ﷻ protect us. May Allāh ﷻ protect Muslims from the evil and waswasa of shayṭān. Everything ordered, everything created is by the order of Allāh ﷻ. Do it. Don’t doubt at all so that Allāh ﷻ gives you thawāb and accepts your deed in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ let us reach many more years.
