Be Good For Your Family

Aūdhu BiLlāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. BismiLlāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm.

We must remember the beautiful words of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam in his ﷺ holy month. We must do what he ﷺ says as much as we can. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says the best of you is the one who is good for his family. “Who protects his family and takes care of it, who gets along with it is the best of you”, says our Holy Prophet ﷺ, “And I am the best of you.” Because our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam was the one who looked after his ﷺ family best. He ﷺ gave them all kinds of beauty. He ﷺ did all kinds of goodness to them. There is no one above our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam in gentleness and compassion. We must be like him ﷺ.

In order to be a good person like he ﷺ wants, you must get along with your family. You must look after your wife and children. They have their rights. We must give them good names. We must educate them. What we mean by educating is not sending children far away to universities like now. You must teach them yourself. They (universities) don’t teach anything. You must teach them yourself. And you must be a good example so that they follow you and become like you, so that they are on the way of Allah ﷻ. This is what our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says.

A good person is raised in his home. And with one home, a district, a city and then a country becomes good. Everyone is running after his ego now. And then people are surprised with their situations. You are openly throwing your children into fire. This is not a good treatment to them. A person who does this is not a good person. A person who does according to his own mind to his family – A person who brings up his family outside the limits of Islam and not the way Islam orders is not good for them. Because a good person protects his family from the evil of this world and from the fire of Akhirah.

May Allah ﷻ grant this to all of us so that we are good people and good for our families, so that we are good for our wives, children and relatives. May Allah ﷻ give this into people’s hearts so that they know what is good and what is bad. The good is the way of our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. The bad is what is outside of it. There are only two ways; no other way. 

May Allah ﷻ protect us. May this month be blessed. We make Salatu s-salam to our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. May his ﷺ Barakah be upon us.

 May his ﷺ gaze be upon us insha’Allah.
