Ask in The Night of Raghā’ib

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Shukr to Allāh ﷻ for creating us in this beautiful religion. Thousands of shukr be to Him ﷻ, because, as we said, this state is upon us by His ﷻ will. These are beautiful states. We must know their value.

Today is the first Thursday of Rajab. Its night is a blessed night, The Night of Raghā’ib. On the Night of Raghā’ib – du’ā’s are always accepted, but this night has a special merit, a uniqueness: it is a night loved by Allāh ﷻ. It is a night blessed by our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. The month of Rajab is among the blessed months. Its reward is greater than other months.

Therefore, shukr to Allāh ﷻ, worship in this night includes fasting its day. At night, in shā’a Llāh, there will be dhikr and du’ā’s. Those who have missed prayers should perform them.

Before going to bed, one should pray and then wake up for Tahajjud. It is as if one has revived the whole night, says our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Some people stay awake all night. Even if they sleep, they still receive that reward, as if they revived the night in worship.

Therefore, these nights are a kindness, virtuous gift from Allāh ﷻ to us. He is always bestowing gifts upon us. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla wants to give even more in such occasions. He ﷻ loves to give and to bestow. Human nature is not like that. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is generous. Generosity means finding an opportunity to give more, to give even more.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, “Ask from Me.” Don’t say you asked too much. “Ask, be consistent, be persistent in asking. Ask,” says Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. When it comes to people, they accept one, two or three people. But constantly insisting makes a person feel stifled and restless. No matter how much he has, it becomes difficult for him.

But by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla’s grace and generosity, He ﷻ says, “Ask Me. Ask, and I will give you; My treasures are inexhaustible.” “مَا عِندَكُمْ يَنفَدُ ۖ وَمَا عِندَ اللَّهِ بَاقٍ”, “Mā Indakum Yanfadu Wa MāInda Allāhi Bāqin”, “Whatever is with you, will be exhausted, and whatever with Allāh will remain.” (Qur’ān 16:96). What you have ends.

No matter how (rich) a person is, what he has will be exhausted. But what is with Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is eternal; it never ends, shukr to Allāh ﷻ.

This is a blessed night, may Allāh ﷻ make it blessed upon us. May Allāh ﷻ grant us īmān from His ﷻ everlasting treasures. May He ﷻ bestow upon us. To not be in need of anyone in shā’a Llāh. For happiness here and hereafter. Li-Llahi Ta’ala, Al-Fatiha.

Al-Fatiha.
