Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوا وَّالَّذِينَ هُم مُّحْسِنُونَ
(Qur’ān 16:128)
‘Inna Llāha ma‘a lladhīna it-taqaw wa lladhīna hum muḥsinūn’
‘Indeed, Allah is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good.’ Sadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, indeed, if you want Allāh ﷻ to be with us, follow the way He ﷻ has shown and fear Allāh ﷻ. Fearing Allāh ﷻ means if you’ve committed something wrong, you appear before Allāh ﷻ in shame.
What you must fear is committing something wrong and then not repenting. This is what’s bad. If you want Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla to be with you, and if you want Him ﷻ to help you, fear Allāh ﷻ. Fearing Allāh ﷻ means doing good to people. It means avoiding harming people.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla loves those who do good. Muhsinīn means those who help people. He ﷻ loves them. Ṭarīqah, Islām and Sharī’ah all command this.
Those who deviate from this act according to their own whims. They say, “I am a Muslim,” but torment Muslims. They say, “I am a Muslim,” but do badness to others. They say, “I am a Muslim,” but engage in all sorts of deception.
The greatest deception is to deceive people, leading them astray from the way of true Muslims, and making them like themselves.
Therefore, being with the righteous ones is being with Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Being away from them is disliked by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, and is not being with Allāh ﷻ. Being with Allāh ﷻ means first and foremost respecting and honoring our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.
Respecting all the Companions, the Ahlu l-Bayt. Respecting the Awliyā’ and Mashāyikh is the way that Allāh ﷻ loves and wants. Those outside of it satisfy their own egos and do what their egos dictate.
Therefore, we must be careful. People must not be deceived. Now, every day, people say, “He deceived this man, he deceived that man, he stole his money, he took the money and ran away.”
That’s not important; taking the money and running away isn’t important; taking your īmān and running away is what matters. Don’t let them deceive you or swindle you. Worldly wealth comes, but the Hereafter has no compromise.
May Allāh ﷻ protect us and keep us safe from their evil. May Allāh ﷻ make us among those whom Allāh ﷻ loves, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
