Allāh ﷻ Doesn’t Love the Lazy

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

وَقُلِ اعْمَلُوا فَسَيَرَى اللَّهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُ

(Qur’ān 09:105)

“Wa-quli ʿmalū fa-sa-yarā llāhu ʿamalakum wa rasūlih”

“And say, Do, for Allah will see your deeds, and [so, will] His Messenger.” Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, Do good. Do good and don’t be idle. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla and Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam see what is done. They will see it.

Whatever we do in dunyā, it is certainly preserved in the sight of Allāh ﷻ; it is hidden. So we shouldn’t worry, “I wonder how I did, what I did” and so. When you make your intention for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ, it will definitely be accepted; the affairs of both dunyā and ākhirah.

The works of dunyā are also important. Some people remain idle. They have many things to do but they don’t do them. They dedicate themselves for ākhirah. They are of no use for ākhirah also. The mashāyikh say, “همة الرجال تقلع الجبال”. The Himmah of men means working without being lazy.

“The Himmah of men can move mountains” they say. That’s what happens. If one leaves work saying, “Someone else will take care of it” if he doesn’t do anything and he avoids working, he’s not an acceptable person. He definitely has to do worldly work also, at least do his own housework. He has to do it.

The one who says, “I have withdrawn my hands and feet from dunyā” and withdraws them, is different. While Awliyā’uLlah do their part, they still have services, they have worldly services as well. What we call worldly service is what is done for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ. The service done on the way of Allāh ﷻ is not in vain. It has its reward and thawāb as if one has performed worship.

Therefore, a person must contemplate and understand what’s good and what’s bad. As we said, the good is to work, to make an effort. This is good in every aspect, for both dunyā and ākhirah. What is bad is laziness. Laziness is what the shayṭān inculcates in people; what he wants. A person doesn’t do work. As for worship, he says “It’s hard for me.” If it’s hard for you – Masha’Allah you’re like a lion. You have the strength to work. You can do things, you can do work.

Otherwise, people who are much weaker than you, sick or disabled are making an effort, doing their worships and striving to do their jobs. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has given strength to your hands and feet. And you say, “It is hard for me. I can’t pray. Make du’ā’ for me.”

We make du’ā’ for you, may Allāh ﷻ make it easy upon you, but you too should not use it as an excuse. Don’t leave prayer, work and so. If you leave it, you surrender to shayṭān. Shayṭān also manages you as he wants.

May Allāh ﷻ protect us. Allāh ﷻ loves those who work hard. He ﷻ does not love the lazy ones. Because laziness also reaches worship. The person does not perform his worship either. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May He ﷻ protect is from the evil of our egos, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.

There are recited Qur’an Khatms, Salawāt, Ayāt, Surahs, Tasbīhāt. May whatever good goals those who recited have be reached. May they be happy here and hereafter. May Allāh ﷻ accept it. We gift them firstly to our Holy Prophet ﷺ, his ﷺ Ahlu l-Bayt and ṣaḥābah, souls of all Anbiya, Awliya, Asfiya. To the souls of our Mashāyikh. To all our passed ones. We gift it to the souls of all Mu’mins and Mu’minahs, Muslims and Muslimāt. For the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ. Li-Llahi Ta’āla.

Al-Fatiha.
