Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

The advice of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam for the Muslim, “إِفعَلوا الخَير”, “If’alū l-Khayr.” Do goodness always. Make Sajdah. Make Ruku’. Don’t leave goodness, says our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.
“الْمُسْلِمُ مَنْ سَلِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَيَدِهِ”, “Al-muslimu man salima l-muslimuna min lisānihī wa yadihī”, “A Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hands the Muslims are safe.” [Hadith].
A Muslim is a person whom people are safe with so they do not get hurt by his hands, and they do not get hurt by his tongue. No evil comes from a Muslim. Goodness must come out. He must do good.
He who is not a Muslim can do anything. “لَيْسَ بَعْدَ الْكُفْرِ ذَنْب”, “Laysa baa’da l-kufri dhanb”. There is no sin after kufr. The biggest sin is kufr. After it, everything is easy. Kufr is the biggest sin.
Therefore, when one becomes a Muslim, he must do all kinds of good deeds. He must do all kinds of help. Whatever people and Muslims are in need of, he must help them as much as he can.
What he can’t, Allāh ﷻ gives him according to his intention. If his intention is to help all people, Allāh ﷻ will give him reward and thawāb according to his intention. There mustn’t be an intention to do evil. There is never an intention to do evil.
The ego is already capable of doing all kinds of evil. Therefore, a Muslim will preserve his ego. He will not give way to his ego. He will ride on his ego. His ego should not ride on him. Otherwise, we move away from Islām. People who are not Muslims or who are not subject to Islām will have left the way.
Everything we do is for the sake of Allāh ﷻ. What is it that we will do? He ﷻ has shown the way to everything. There is sharī’ah. There is a ṭarīqah. The things a Muslim should do are clear. But the most important thing is to do khayr, to do goodness, to stay away from evil. People of today have become envious. “If it is not with me, it must not be with anyone else.” They harm other’s possessions. They disturb other’s comfort; at least in that respect.
Therefore, a Muslim must definitely stay away from these things. He must not do something by following others. He should not think that the evil these people do is good. No evil is good. You must live for the sake of Allāh ﷻ. You must be beneficial to people so that Allāh ﷻ will give you reward and thawāb. He ﷻ does not give reward and thawāb for evil. He ﷻ only gives for goodness. Badness must be prevented. Badness must not be shown as good. Be with those who are in the way of Allāh ﷻ.
Do not be with those who are outside the way of Allāh ﷻ. Stay away from them so that no evil may touch you. May Allāh ﷻ protect us from evil, afflictions and afflictions from people, in shā’a Llāh. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq.
Al-Fatiha.
