Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

The 18th of Rabiʽ al-Awwal marks the blessed Urs of Shaykh Adnan Kabbaniق, a beloved inheritor of the spiritual legacy of Mawlana Shaykh Nazimق and the Naqshbandi Golden Chain.
Born in the city of Beirut, Lebanon, Shaykh Adnanق grew up in an environment rich with faith, tradition, and the love of the Prophet ﷺ. From his earliest days, he was known for his deep attachment to the remembrance of Allah ﷻ and his unwavering respect for the friends of Allah ﷻ.
His spiritual journey began under the guidance of Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah al-Fa’iz ad-Daghestaniق and Mawlana Shaykh Nazimق, who recognized in him a heart devoted to service. He grew to become one of their most senior and trusted mureeds on the Way.
Shaykh Adnanق dedicated his entire life to spreading the teachings of love, adab, and remembrance, carrying the light of his Shaykh across continents.
He was a bridge between East and West, speaking to hearts in a way that transcended language, culture, and background.
Those who met him would often recall the warmth of his presence. His smile carried reassurance, his gaze carried compassion, and his words carried the fragrance of sincerity.
Whether he was addressing thousands in a public gathering or sitting with a single seeker, he made each person feel seen, valued, and loved for the sake of Allah ﷻ.
Despite his immense knowledge and spiritual authority, he never placed himself above others. Instead, he would say, “I am only a servant. My work is to take your hand and bring you to the door of Mawlana Shaykh Nazimق, who will take you to the presence of the Prophet ﷺ.”
He often reminded mureeds of the importance of serving without expecting recognition, saying, “If you wish to be accepted, hide your deeds from people, and show them only to Allah ﷻ. A hidden seed grows into a strong tree, while the one left in the open may dry before it bears fruit.”
In his company, dhikr was not simply recitation but a living, breathing connection with the Divine. He encouraged gatherings of remembrance wherever he went, firmly believing that hearts could be polished and lives transformed through it.
Shaykh Adnanق travelled tirelessly for the sake of the Tariqah, often enduring physical hardship without complaint.
His goal was always to connect people to the chain of Saints, to ignite in them the love of Allah ﷻ, His Prophet ﷺ, and the Awliya. In doing so, he left an indelible mark on countless lives, planting seeds of faith that continue to grow to this day.
As we remember him on his blessed Urs, we recall his gentle guidance, his generous heart, and his unwavering service to the Naqshbandi Way.
May Allah ﷻ elevate his station, fill his grave with light, and allow us to follow in the footsteps of sincerity, love, and humility that he so beautifully embodied.
