Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm
Maulana Sheikh Nazimق’s Suhbah
07 January 2011

As-salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh, yaa ibaadAllah.
Always try to say as-salaamu`alaykum because it brings safety for you and for all people. Today, many people have forgotten to say it. The Seal of Prophets ﷺ said, ad-deenu nasihah. This means that religion is sincere advice.
Religion was sent from the Heavens through prophets to guide people to the right path and to purify them. Allah ﷻ loves that His servants be clean. Clean ones will go to Paradise. Those who are dirty with sin will be taken to the Fire.
O people, we are approaching Yawm al-Qiyamah, the Day of Judgment. That is when everyone who lived on Earth will be called to account. Allah ﷻ will ask each person what they did with their life.
Allah ﷻ sent 124,000 prophets to warn people and help them understand their purpose. Each generation was given guidance. The first prophet and the first man was our grandfather, Sayyidina Adam (AS). From his time until the final messenger, Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, guidance never stopped.
Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is the Last Messenger for all of creation. He ﷺ came to teach people their place and how they must deal with their Creator, the Lord of the Heavens, Allah ﷻ.
But now, sadly, the number of people in the world has passed five billion. Most are only focused on worldly life. They say, “We know more than our ancestors.” They believe that technology gives them honour. But when they leave this life, none of it will help them. When Allah ﷻ says, “O Mankind, come for your judgment,” what will they answer?
They say, “We are something.” But soon, they will become dust. The only real thing within you is your soul. That is what was gifted to you from the Heavens. The body by itself does nothing. It is like a car. A car needs fuel to run. Even a brand new 2011 car cannot move without fuel. In the same way, the body cannot function without the soul. When the soul departs, the body falls and dies.
Today, people believe they know everything. But they do not know about the unseen. They say, “If we cannot see or touch it, we do not believe it exists.” That thinking is wrong. We are moving closer to the time when Allah ﷻ will call everyone to account. But people are drunk with distractions. Because they turn away from heavenly knowledge, signs will be sent to wake them up.
Technology is now at its highest level, yet strange events are happening everywhere. When something is sent from the sky, people run like ants. They panic. But where will they run? Technology will not save them.
Europe is now facing severe winter. People are fleeing, but they do not realise that this is from the Will of Allah ﷻ. Huge clouds carry millions of tons of snow. Elsewhere, floods are drowning towns. People cannot stop it. They do not know where it comes from or where it will go. Still, they waste their time celebrating New Year’s Eve. What kind of thinking is that?
Entire continents are now experiencing heavy rain. Floods are wiping everything away. Heedless people cannot stop it. In Australia, during their summer, massive floods appeared. They never thought such things could happen. This is because they are lost in dunya and heedlessness.
O people, you must stop and reflect. Ask questions. Learn and understand what is happening on this Earth. Today, people, leaders, governments, men and women are all unaware. Even animals are confused and do not know what to do.
O people, come and listen to the heavenly teachings of the Prophet ﷺ. Try to do your best. Live with purpose. Care for yourself, your family, and all living things. If not, everything will come to an end.
We are asking for forgiveness in this month of Safar, which is the heaviest of the twelve months. It carries many heavy events. We have been ordered to pray at least two raka`ats and go into sajdah, asking Allah ﷻ for forgiveness. Say astaghfirullah 300 times.
O people, Ask for forgiveness. Put your forehead on the ground before your Lord ﷻ. Seek safety for yourself in this world and in the Hereafter. Say three times:
Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan `abduhu wa rasooluh.
Say astaghfirullah 300 times daily. Give charity every day, even if it is a small coin. Do it for yourself, for your children, and for others. Charity will protect you in this life and in the Hereafter.
We are weak servants. We are trying to reach people from east to west. Our aim is to save people from hardship and punishment.
O people, ask Allah ﷻ for mercy. Beg Him to place you under His protection, for the honour of the Seal of Prophets ﷺ.
O our Lord ﷻ, we ask You to forgive us. Lift these burdens from us. If not, even more hardship is coming. May Allah ﷻ forgive us.
Zidhu yaa Rabbee `izzan wa sharafan nooran wa surooran sultaanan wa ridhwaana.
Bi hurmati ‘l-Fatihah.
